My Dad had the little two door Montero, it was another Chrysler partnership in the days of the Eclipse. I think it was called the Raider. Thank you for the nostalgia. Awesome!!!!

I owed one of Land Cruisers. Stupid idea mounting the turn signals on top of the front bumpers, where they got ripped off. It also rusted out the first year I owned it.

Similarly related; I had watched a video about the Land Rovers on the 1930's and 40's and how they traversed the Sahara Desert... none of them were 4x4, and that was my logic on getting into trucks today. Why do I need a 4x4? I've owned trucks since 1993 and always bought a 4x2. I have never gotten stuck. I have never had problems driving through snow or sand. Yet today, no truck manufacture will deliver a 4x2 to New England; it has to be special ordered.

When I lived and worked in Ethiopia, only Land Cruisers could be counted on to get us way out in the boonies, and get us back. (Interesting aside: In some Latin-American countries (e.g., Bolivia), "Pajero" is slang for "wanker.")

I can't stand modern vehicles. I really hate crossovers. But I do like certain older SUVs like this Land Cruiser, the original Land Rover, and older American models. There are very few modern SUVs that i would actually want to own. This Mitsubishi is one of them. Homolegation vehicles are the best. They were only available to the public because the manufacturer had no choice
