Audrey is my ultimate role model. She not only inspired me to learn my 6 languages, but also showed me that being attractive doesn't necessarily require big curves (I'm thin like she was) and obvious seduction. She's beautiful, elegant, classy, well spoken, intelligent, and a true lady. Timeless 💖💖💖

*petite* girls are overshadowed by today's bodies ... big & curvy ... every girl is beautiful in her own way and every person ... males and females has their own likings ... but in general, a ''perfect'' woman's body is slim or skinny ... thinner than a man's body, just like Audrey's.

Beautiful, smart, and has a heart. How is she so perfect 😭❤️
@rovanajean95502 жыл бұрын
the way i've learned about life is perfection has a price to pay. Audrey suffered from wars greatly, and she had some PTSD about it and couldn't play Anne Frank because it would be too traumatic for her. I speculate that she knows so much languages because of her time in war, working with many people from many places with many languages. my point being, she is perfect, that's undeniable (lol Aurora was inspired by her), but she suffered so much pain that we nowadays could only imagine.
@noxuSussy7 ай бұрын
@@Hannari-xt6nr so you hate her PARENTS because THEY were evil? Okay. I don't see how that proves anything about Audrey. She is a humanitarian because she suffered through wars. Using your logic, I should hate american or japanese people since their forefathers were colonialists too, right? I don't understand how parents' sins should also burden their child even if they are doing good things in life.

I agree with one of the commenters below that her voice was the most beautiful and perhaps natural (as one might expect) in Dutch. In speaking speaking English in 1954, she displayed the most elegant English (to American ears) accent. I also thought that she sounded similarly fluid and euphonious in French. She sounded so happy and unforced in Dutch, however. (And I don't speak a word of Dutch.)

She's someone who learned very early to always project a persona of grace, modesty, and inner joy. I'm not persuaded that internally she was always so happy as she looked; but her manner & speech instantly made everyone she met her friend and ally. From some in-depth interviews she gave, it becomes apparent she wasn't taken in by her own success (both in human relations and in show biz): on the contrary, she battled life long insecurities.

Anne Frank and Audrey Hepburn were born in Holland in 1929 and lived only a short distance apart. While the Frank family hid in the secret annex in Amsterdam, Audrey and her non-Jewish family faced different challenges during World War II. Audrey nearly starved to death, her uncle was executed, and her brother was sent to a concentration camp. Audrey herself participated in the Dutch resistance, performing in ballets to raise money for the cause. Years later, when Audrey became a famous actress, she was offered the role of Anne Frank in a film about her life. Despite Otto Frank's request, Anne's father, she refused because she felt too close to the story and could not handle the emotional burden of playing the role. Hepburn said it was as if it had happened to her own sister, and she felt the pain and tragedy too deeply.

It's a shame she only made films in English. There's enough English actresses (can't think of an actor offhand) who made French films: Charlotte Rampling, Jane Birkin, Kristen Scott-Thomas. Audrey Hepburn would have been great in French films. Then there's people like Omar Sharif. He acted in Arabic, French and Italian, as well as English.

SO WHAT? I SPEAK 4. SHE HAD A BIG HEART. THAT IS MORE IMPORTANT!
@omnivorous652 күн бұрын
Impressive. It is a bit unfornuate that in those days an actress was primarily esteemed for her beauty and her intelligence was largely ignored as irrelevant or hardly desirable. Few would know that Marilyn Monroe was highly intelligent and extremely well read. What makes Audrey Hepburn so special is her intelligence in relation to the moral challenges of her days and how she responded. There is a phantastic book "The evil that men do" by Brian Masters, which contemplates both the nature of good and evil. A chapter of the book is about Audrey Hepburn and her response to humanitarian catastrophes in her time. In fact, he concludes quite convincingly that she meets all the criteria of a saint. And those criteria a rigorous.
