Augmentation Evoker - a raid leader spec. You already have the frames and the cooldowns tracked, your own damage isn't as significant as other dps and you get to choose who's getting all the buffs

Raid lead hunter will probably remain the premiere spec. For augmentation you’ll probably want them all just stacked with anyone whose CDs line up with ebon might and just send things on CD.

I don't want to be doomsayer guy, but that spec got me really worried. There is already big competition in LFG m+ for getting dps spot and now blizz introduces spec that is utility powerhouse and bring some unique buffs into the play, which guarantees spot for them. It's reminds me BFA m+ state where you played 1/1/1/2, or tank/healer/rogue/2dps. I'm always like new innovative mechanics and cool features, but that one can really collapse already shaking balance of group forming. God help those warriors, survs and dks that will try to fit into those 2 holes, knowing how they struggling already.

We all know balance in WoW has always been of varying quality and never perfect. I just hope they treat this with great care. It's going to be hard for them to make this spec good but not too good. I have to admit, it's a brave decision by blizzard, but it's worrying.

Every time I see someone look into this spec it makes me more excited for this spec. There are so many big brain plays you can make with this (eg the movement stuff with the stone, blistering scales timing with big pulls) that it’s going to be so much fun.

run like 5+ augmentation evokers and 1 demo lock. So much 10% cdr that the demo lock grabs enough of them to get permanent tyrant, so they permanently extend every pet they ever summon. That would ramp..... very quickly. very.

I've generally been pretty skeptical of the concept, because this seemed more like a Shadowlands Blizzard move - sort of an "instead of the thing you want, which is a tank spec, we made this bizarre thing that looks like it'll be a nightmare to balance and oh believe me it will be!" kind of move. But you might've turned me around on that. It does seem pretty cool and I have to admit I find myself wanting to try it out.

My first bit of feedback is, "That looks like A LOT of active skills!" I dunno if my puny rat brain can handle using so many cooldown based skills optimally. Gonna need some real fancy weak auras to get the most out of it. I do like that most of them seem fairly forgiving on the positional side of things. As a PuGLyfe player it can be very hard to predict random tank movements some times. This specs addition (along with a sale on a expac that most players say is good) is what made me resub. So, I hope I enjoy it.

I think they should move Ebon Might to be a dmg proc, like Inferno's Blessing or Blessing of Summer, this way most of the damage they boost can be directly counted as their damage. Loving the idea of Augmentation, I think specs like these are super cool, I hope it's well recieved :D

My biggest problem here is it seems to have concept crept on Paladin quite a bit. It has blessing of salvation, better auras, old ret aura.. ... I hope if this stuff works out they start giving some of these toys back.

I think of the scales like a DK's bone shattering talent. Doesn't look initially like it would be a lot of damage, but could end up being in the top 3 damage for a tank spec overall in a dungeon.

I've done some test with a tank on the PTR, doing some crazy pulls in Cobalt Assembly and it was the tanks top damage ability at 26%

I've been testing it on ptr a bunch seems like mastery crit gonna be the best stats and currently at 442 ilvl I'm giving around 1800 primary stat with procs buffing that by 400 from neltharion trinket and giving baseline 16% verse after nerf bumped up to like 22% verse on spoils use this class was giving the people I tested it with upwards of 100k DPS in aoe (100-150k usually) and in single target was around like 40-60k This class is absolutely bonkers and I love it

I don’t really like the idea of this spec. Idk I just feel like it’s going to be more so of the “you didn’t have an evoker buffing you? You suck” Idk it just feels like it’s the PI issue just magnified. Why not just make these buffs all random dps targets? Or does it become you bring 1 evoker for every 4 dps to raid? 2 tank, 4 healer, 3 evoker, 11 dps? So then in theory every dps gets buffs I’m some form or another.

I feel like at the end of the day it evens out for contents like M+ and mythic raiding. Since the number of players are fixed. Only 5 and 20, you bring in only 3 dps for m+ so even if you have 2 top tier dps, + augmentation evoker, it will still work out to be the same as 3 dps. Provided if all the buffs are pressed at the right times etc. It might actually be worst off brining Aug evoker for raid, since some of the buffs affects only a few players. If all the buffs affects everyone then it would be very clutch to bring 1 Aug evoker.

I wish that it functioned like disc priest with atonement for granting Ebon Mights. Ebon Might itself would be like radiance but as you said prescience and other direct buffs should also be able to interact with the class primary buff. I also don’t love that Shifting sands, the vers buff, is entirely passive and only sent out on empower casts. Having some way of directing it would just feel better.

17:40 - 70 yard range on rescue is an absurd amount of movement in a pinch. 21:00 - Prescience in raid is probably gonna be something you dish out when someone pops a CD rather than as a maintenance buff on a specific target. They have laid out that there will be hooks for addons to pick up aug damage properly, so ebon might/mastery/prescience should all be properly assignable. The only bits that won't easily behave are the motes and any procs or effects based on abilities critting with prescience.

The trap is that it'll be both. A good group will play around it pretty hard and get huge results. A bad group will end up with their worst players getting the buffs half the time and it'll look pretty terrible.

Agree seems they have almost no vers scaling. Which would be very strange in pvp since nearly all the gear is stacked with vers. I suspect they will start showing up in rated battlegrounds and then people will realize a lot of pve gear will be useful on them stacking haste mastery

i mean to have a dps that isnt focused on dpsing him/herself needs to bring significant buffs to others dps in order to even find a slot in mythic+ idk how you manage that and still have the spec considered "balanced". I mean we're talking it has to make those other 2 dps effectively doing the dmg of another person or more. This spec will either be so bad no1 brings it to the content or it is so broken no1 will go without one. I don't think either is "healthy". I hope i'm wrong?

I'm curious --- what would the M+ scene look like if it was a 6-man group? I too am concerned that there is way too large of a disparity between classes that get instant invited and those that get serial declined when trying to LFG. I have no idea, but I wonder if adding another slot help combat some of this or if that is moving in the wrong direction.

Speaking to his comment on versatility, not everything has to be important, special, included, desirable. The only reason vers "needs" to have more added value for Augmentation is that, versatility is loaded on Evoker tier as well as obviously PvP equipment. Speaking of PvP, this spec will be trash. Possible being viable in 3v3 with 2 DPS and maybe in RBGs. The versatility and PvP dilemmas will drive Blizzard into shifting the class into one of three directions: over powered buffs, increased healing, or increased damage. The later two are more likely and will come at the expense of the buffs (meaning nerfs) which, will gradually shift the spec into yet another healing or DPS spec with mediocre buffs.

It's going to be tough when you have ranged dps who like to stand outside your max range. I don't think you can stack Augmentation Evokers without losing dps unless you have a large group of high dpsers. I'm thinking 1 or 2 per 10 dps.

I think this is a mistake to implement right now. Maybe if they had set up more support dps specs before this point, then I would feel that this is a good time to add it, but because it's the only one basically, I'm worried that it's just going to be always taken for higher content.
