Thanks for watching Tina! The cross is not a celtic cross but it's metal work. And my parents probably bought it from an artist. My parents left it on the post when they moved to their new house. I do think it's beautiful, but I also have a complicated relationship with the symbol of the cross. As a Christian, for years I've identified with that image as visual representation for my religion. But in recent years I've contemplated the traditional cross more as what it once symbolized during the time of Jesus Christ, which is a symbol of execution. I feel ambivalent about it, as a symbol. But it's a beautiful piece of metalwork. It's funny you mention it because I noticed its prominence in this video when I was editing the footage (and I my thumbnail) and I asked myself what that cross might communicate to others. (Others might make assumptions about me based on its presence in the video.) Because it is a religious symbol it might look like I'm trying to communicate or signal something. When in reality its there because my parents left it there and I haven't yet come to a conclusion about if I want to leave it there, and so it stays, by default. I appreciate you asking about it!
