Augustin's bach music is probably Bach's favorite version. It feels like exactly what Bach intented to play.

Perfect balance on Andante (between melody and accompaniment.) Great breathing techniques (inhaling on up-bows and exhaling on down-bows; performing just like the way you taught us...perfection.) Allegro is just insanely, breathtakingly, SUPERB.... What a treat!!

Bach's world was filled with sounds that don't exist anymore, covered over by noise pollution. Imagine listening to ship paddles squeaking as the boats rocked next to their docks. Thanks for posting this Augustin. As always, you are terrific!

A great violinist will play beautifully. But an artist will reveal a truth that you weren’t aware of or didn’t know. That’s what our dear Augustin does here. No detail is too small or note too insignificant. Yet he doesn’t lose sight of the overarching architecture. And still he takes all this and steps beyond whatever we’ve heard before to present this familiar masterpiece in a new, wondrous, and unfamiliar way.

Augustin revealed the truth to me when I first heard his Chaconne. I fell on my knees and bawled. It was so intense that I couldn't control my self. So I just allowed myself to feel. Bach changed all of our lives and Augustin serving as his vessel changed mine that day.

The andante is, in my opinion, by far the best version I ever listened to. I always envy the violin as a solo instrument...I am limited to one note at the time and, though in the orchestra we oboists can create something absolutely magical, nothing can be quite as simple yet beautiful as Bach on the violin.

Mesmerizing interpretation, and incredible sound quality Specially like the Andante, and how it really really feels like a solo violin and accompaniment, as independent separately phrased parts, amazing!
The baroque bow adds so much airiness to the sound. I love it!

I always wonder how Bach made the best pieces for the violin with using minimal shifting to higher positions and minimal vibrato. I guess he was the one of the first people to publish during a simpler time but these melodies are indeed god's work.
