A very interesting documentary, but you may wish to change the title, I think you mean "protegé",as Augustus was supported and protected by Caesar. Prodigy, of course, means someone with great talent or that talent itself. Caesar's prodigy makes it sound like you are talking about the great talent of Caesar.

It appears that the lifespan was short back then. His parents died in their 40's. Others in their 50's. No decent medical care. Being a student of history I think Rome would have done better without slavery. I wonder how the empire would have done without it. Also, if it has stayed a Republic and imitated the Greek idea of Democracy with civilian control of the legions and no civil wars it would have lasted as long as the Eastern Empire.

It’s great having KZbin Premium! That’s where my daytime viewing comes from. Mid-evening I switch to streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video. I would be paying more if I just had basic cable and I’d be stuck with ads on every channel. Whatever works for you 😊.

@@donskuse2194 Wow, that’s a lot of viewing. When I was a kid my mother said if I watched too much television I’d go blind. I don’t have cable, we cut that out years ago, we stream. TV used to be free then cable came along and we were paying, same with streaming. When it started all you had to do was buy the box and there were free things to watch. Now we pay for premium channels that used to be one tier, and you have to pay more for what you used to have. Once they become the next new thing they sell out to the guys they were trying to get away from.

I decided to give it a try. Alas, you are correct. I was averaging a commercial every 7 minutes. I made it to the 3rd and called it a day.

The Roman Civil War ended, but the Pax Romana quickly turned into a war in Germania. Interestingly, the Pax Americana ended precisely because of Germania. Fearing the strengthening of economic relations between Germany and Russia, the Americans fomented a civil war in Ukraine that quickly turned into a war against Russia. The explosion of the German-Russian gas pipelines in the North Sea destroyed the German economy put an end to economic relations between Germany and Russia. Now only one question remains: When will the global nuclear war desired by the Americans begin to completely destroy the United States and the entire planet? After it the Pax of the Graveyards will be total.

@@grantsmythe8625 So when Jesus was born, that's when emperor Augustus was in power aka the birth of Rome. Being the birth of Roman empire was the good news, or Jesus was the good news? I remember people was taxed so much, they struggle having a decent life. Just a question, I was just wondering.
