SFA was in 6th in that famous 2021 NCAA Outdoor 4x4 when Auhmad got the baton. And if you rewatch, he even sprinted past Bryce Deadmon, an Olympic relay gold medalist just weeks later, on anchor for 2nd. I’ve talked to him several times over the past few weeks. The man is Lion-hearted.

6th place! I knew that they were far back. It was a masterful split on that anchor leg and definitely a surprise considering the heavy hitters in that race in 2021!

Auhmad is one of the greatest relay runners in track history not just the NCAAs. His split last year is top 5 all time. He's definitely capable of going sub 44 outdoors. If Auhmad runs another legendary leg at NCAAs this year I think USA should send him in the relay pool for world champs regardless of his performance at trials.

yes it matters, one of those indicator events, and almost everyboyd bodes background training with 300/350s meters etc. if you can’t run 31, 32 low in the 400 outdoors your not going to be a factor

Good call out here for sure!

This just once again shows his potential of going sub 44 outdoors .

Auhmad (SR not JR like the article said) should've run through the line for #2 all-time ahead of Torrin's 32.32 from '10! Mixed message there saying not to get too hyped then end by asking if a WR is possible :) Has a lot to prove his SR Yr that he's not just a relay guy as ppl are right to have their doubts & those doubts will still be there even if he does well indoors until he delivers in the open 400m outdoors when he'll be 24yrs old by NCAAs. Sam Ogazi & Judson Lincoln will make it a real battle & if he still has 1yr of eligibility left, would be good for Justin Robinson to finally deliver as well!

Yea, certain he could have hit at least 32.30 with a run through the line and a good lean. You're right I'm kind of playing both sides on not getting hyped, but saying the WR can get broken, but I guess theres something about running 44.4 that wouldn't surprise me too much from him especially considering the times other NCAA guys ran before their best 44 sec marks. Morales-Williams: 45.58 -> 44.49 Norman: 45.00 -> 44.52 Clement: 45.29 -> 44.57 Ross: 44.83 -> 44.62 N. Williams: 45.23 -> 44.71 Godwin: 45.36 -> 44.75 CMW is the outlier, but on average this is a .605 improvement from the best 400m time to their ultimate PB. (without CMW its .508). Ofcourse this is just a few of the top guys, but essentially wouldn't be surprised to see Auhmad drop anywhere from 3-5 tenths off his PB like the other guys. But your right he will have lots of (exciting competition) from the other 400m guys (Ogazi will be a problem!) and I think after the DQ at NCAAs and the DNQ out of the heats at Olympic trials, Robinson definitely has a bit to prove when it comes to standing out amongst the competitive mens 400m field right now

@@AllInTheGame01 has to prove he’s not a relay he went 44 indoors at NCAAs got second🤦🏾♂️💀

@@RyuBlaze24 Yup ran a very good 44.91 for 2nd @NCAA Indoors, then went outdoors & barely cracked 45s with his 44.98 PB & not placing in the Top 8 @NCAA Outdoors or making it out of the 1st round @OLY Trials as younger guys in CMW (44.05) & Ogazi (44.41) ran much faster outdoors.
@RyuBlaze2417 күн бұрын
@ he placed top 8 he just got dq, last year outdoors was his best season yet, sound crazy he went faster than 46 8-9 times. Long season, Alabama kid barely ran indoors
@AllInTheGame0117 күн бұрын
@@RyuBlaze24 Shouldn't have gotten himself DQ'd in a 400m race! Would still have finished 4th behind a clear Top 3 of CMW, Ogazi & Powell - 2 of which ran the same long season Auhmad ran with "Alabama Kid" aka the 17yr old Freshman at the time Sam Ogazi running half a full indoor season and then a full outdoor season & all 3 still ran faster than Auhmad outdoors. Wouldn't dismiss the likes of Judson Lincoln, Justin Robinson, Justin Braun & 'Alabama Kid' all levelling up this yr!

Auhmad Robinson runs very well from behind, and has amazing times when he's drafting off the front runners on the relays. You can't draft off anyone in the open 400m.
