As 2021 comes to a close, lets have a drink to the old times and to the times to come. May your cup be full, your hearth be warm, and heart, and bed, be ever full of love and happiness.

"Auld Lang Syne" roughly translates to "Old Time's Sake", for those who didn't know. So the message of the poem/song is "Let us never forget our old friends who we can't see anymore, here's a drink in their honor!"

Appreciated! Always thought it was ostensibly a holiday song as we hear renditions of it now and again here in the US various places between that season and new years but interesting that that's not necessarily true.

A joke from Sweden : "The defenition of a gentleman is a man who can play the accordion but doesn't " But jokes aside, you have a lovely powerful voice with a warm tone, can't get enough!

As my wife is Swedish I feel compelled to point out that I am a perfect gentleman. I play the concertina and would never deem to play the accordion. Thank you for your comment.

Great stuff, David. I love how you don't rush through songs that deserve the slower treatment.

Translation for our English friends "it's that time already? Let's go home." In many places in Japan this tune is used to signal children to make their way home. In my town it played at exactly 5pm everyday. So for many Japanese it holds a special place in our hearts from early in our childhood.
