Story 1: Okay....even if a person is overweight, there's a time and place to bring it up. A birthday party is a no-go zone for that. Especially with such tenacity.

Ok, first story I completely agree with the narrator. This family sucks. HOWEVER, this girl does need help right now. 18 years old and 320 lbs is crazy unhealthy. This will literally kill her. She will get all kinds of health issues and needs to take this seriously.

I hate how when weight is mentioned, everyone suddenly becomes hyper fixated on health. Like any of you actually would care if you passed by this person in the street. Just admit that you're shallow and think that fat people are ugly and keep it moving.

@@speks36 I mean it does negatively affect your health sooooo….. I’m fat too and wished I did something about it in middle/high school when it would’ve been easier to lose weight and form better habits. Now at 28 I get pressure sores on my waist line and boils between my thighs which can lead to heart disease down the road or even cause infections in other parts of my body. I can’t tie my shoes without putting unnecessary pressure on my abdomen. My spine is quite literally fucked from the extra weight on my front. Not everyone thinks fat people are ugly but a majority of people who’ve developed a problem want to help others avoid the same hardships they’ve gone through.

@@speks36 As someone who's overweight by about 70 pounds, I can't tell you how nice it would feel to not be fat. Do you know how hard it is to exist as someone who's overweight? Sleeping is hell, moving is hell, trying to get dressed is hell. It's not about appearances, it's about the day to day existing as someone who's overweight. I'm only 255 pounds, I can only imagine how hard someone 320 pounds or heavier might have it!

Story 1: I can relate to OP’s plight. I’m a bit “thick bodied”, but not “fat”. But my parents, grandma, aunties, uncles, some do my cousins, teased me about that. They would give me a prepaid gym membership or Weight Watchers enrollment as a holiday or birthday gift. Jerks. I’ve refused the insult gifts or throw them out most of the time, and I always told them off. Good for OP.

Story 1: No way is the OP a jerk here... the aunt is hands down, and the parents aren't innocent in this either. They should've stood up for the OP here. Considering the aunt's history of fat shaming here, there is no way that she meant this in a positive manner. Theres no way this is an over-reaction by the OP. Also, how much do you want to bet that the aunt is no slim-jim herself? With everything said here, i do think the OP should see a doctor or something, because being 320lbs at 18 is quite concerning. Could be some undiagnosed health problems here. Overall, screw the family... especially the aunt. Story 2: OP is not a jerk at al here. Regardless of the brother having ADHD and the OP havin autism... why put up wth his bad behaviour and attitude on this trip? i can 100% see why the OP doesnt want him in the car with them. Also, if the mom is getting uptight here, then she should just take them... and its pretty clear she doesn't want to. I hate it when people/parents just try to pass off the kids here in hopes that others will be a free babysitter. Keep your foot down and don't let him ride with you. Story 3: OP is not a jerk at all here. It really sounds like this co-worker slowly became a major mooch off of the OP here. It's one thing to openly share with someone, but she eventually just started taking without asking... which is stealing, and i would've stopped letting her have anything of mine. As for the tickets, the OP did say that she would SELL them, not GIVE them to this co-worker, so the OP had every right to ask for payment... and if it were me, i would've gotten the payment BEFORE giving them to her. Huge mistake there by the OP. OP needs to avoid this co-worker at all costs after all this. Story 4: I'm torn on who the biggest jerk is between the OP's dad and the distant uncle here. Why didn't the dad just throw this guy out or call the cops or something? That is blatant tresspassing and he had zero rights to do anything here. If it were me, i would've thrown the guy out, literally if necessary. The excuse of looking for a restroom and wanting to see the nephew's home is beyond stupid. Hopefully they can cut this guy out. Story 5: Yeah.... emergency my ass. I would've thrown this Karen out. There's no way she was partially blind and there's no way she was having an "emergency", especially if she wouldn't say what. No wonder no one wanted to help her out. She probably just wanted pills or something. Story 6: It sounds to me like this sister was playcated to and coddled all or most of her life if she is this lazy and unwilling to help out around the house at her age. She's just an entitled spoiled brat who's been enabled all that time. OP needs to get out of that household ASAP and limit or cut contact with the family here. They all sound nuts.

I'm gonna sound a bit harsh to the first OP, but this is something that needs to be said. The aunt's 'body shaming' is probably justified. OP is an 18-year old female, I'm a male about 5 years older and she weighs almost exactly twice as much as me. That is not healthy. She should absolutely buy those weight watchers before she eats herself to death. Weighing over 300 pounds as a young adult, I'm pretty scared to think about what ungodly weights she was on as a kid.

About the Karen in the ER. I don’t know what country this happened in, but here in the States hospital staff and doctors offices have to help patients fill out paperwork. It’s part of the Americans with Disabilities Act. I’m legally blind, and can no longer see to fill out paperwork. BUT, I can read on my phone. I can change the size of the font and invert colors. Obviously the OP doesn’t know anything about blindness or the levels of it.

If she had taken you to the side and peacefully brought it up instead of humiliating you in a birthday gift, then it would be different. For sure 320 pounds is concerning for ones health, as you're passed the line for heart attack and overall heart health risks, so yeah, trying to lose a bit of weight isn't something you should ignore, but doing it like your aunt did? That's shameful, it's disgusting, it's even more disgusting that your parents are more worried about their own image to the family than your feelings and overall well being. As someone who is 255 pounds and desperately wanting to try and lose at least 60 pounds minimum, I'd be absolutely devastated if my family approached me like that about my weight. Should you choose to start a weight loss journey, I wish you all the best!

Story 1: I reaaaaaally want to know if they’re Asian American. Because if they are, then the aunt might have some genuine concern for OP. As far as I know for my culture, it’s considered the norm for your family to make comments about your weight in part about your health, though it feels like it can be to insult, depending on the person. However, it would be nice if OP’s parents and aunt understands that to OP, that’s considered rude if they’re Asian AMERICAN. The cultural upbringing OP has can differ from the adults, which I wish they were more mindful of. And not even Asian American, maybe they’re from a non-Asian culture that has a similar thing about commenting on weight.

AS someone with low vision, I can't read normal print, nor drive. There is a large market for low vision reading equipment. I used to use a flatbed scanner to enlarge the text on a large computer monitor, but I ca.t take 100+ ponds of old & bulky equipment ob the Senior services bus. I had to sit about 5 inches from a 24" monitor and use a jeweler's loupe to type this I've had other entitled people like you demand that I read things for myself. My vision cal no longer be corrected by glasses. I wore them for about 60 years, from 10 years old. An entitled teacher was screaming at , If I can read the chalkboard standing next to you, you are lying!" I was legally blind when I registered for the daft, at 48.

@@notyme243 I could just barely pass the vision test when I renewed my license. I quit driving when I couldn't read street signs. I always knew where I was going after decades of living in the same place, but I wasn't taking any chances. I used Walmart+ and Sam's club .I get free shipping with both accounts. I just bought an electric scooter that's supposed to have a 12.4 mile range, so I can get to a small shopping center and home but I need an outside outlet installed to charge it. The trips to the VA hospital were almost 15 years go, so I was legal with one eye and my gasses. That was long before I developed the cataracts. My background was engineering and invoked being away of safety issues. You don't work around high voltage, or 1000 foot+ transmitting towers without being cautions. Fat shaming definitely sucks but I also do worry about OP in story 1. I’ve been bigger since middle school and was maybe 260-270 when I finished high school but girls usually weigh less even being the same size as a guy. 300+ lbs at 18 and having the “my body is fine the way it is” mentality is going to set her up for a very hard life. Overeating can be an addiction and although it’s important to have good self esteem and love your body, you need to love your body enough to take care of it. Aunt is definitely still as AH but it sounds like the aunt is bigger herself and knows the struggles OP is going to have even if the OP can’t foresee those problems.

I’m not trying to be rude and this isn’t just about at Mina jerk, but anyway, how has the start of becoming a normal thing in the way of oh cause it doesn’t look like somethings wrong with you means there’s nothing wrong with you? I was watching a video about this guide that goes around confronting people that have a parking permit to park in handicap zones and he’s like well. You’re getting out without a cane or a walker, so why are you parking there. And now in a way, do you original poster and the story about the lady cut in line at the emergency room he’s like OK I understand she cut in line but to say oh well there was nothing wrong with her because I couldn’t see anything. It seems like just a couple of months ago that wasn’t acceptable to say there’s nothing wrong with you since I can’t see it and now it’s oh well since I can’t seem does anything wrong that means there’s nothing wrong and I don’t only one that’s noticing that? she like the narrator even said physical things you can say I heard it is painful, but what if a woman is having a miscarriage and trying to not panic what if someone’s having a stroke? What if you were eating dinner you got sick and when you went to go upchuck, there was blood those things you can’t see and all those are things you should so I can Innoway the narrator kind of prove that now it turned into, unless you can see it. unless you can see it, we should assume everyone’s OK even if they’re in the hospital
