I always knew they were, even when others didn’t. I think they had a lot of bravery and courage to come forward publicly about these issues. They probably had to mentally and emotionally prepare themselves to be ready to face lots of criticism and negativity from viewers about doing this. But they did it because they knew it was the right thing to do for their nieces and nephews. They even stated at several points how it’s not easy for them to come forward about family like this. They, also, stated at the beginning how everything they would be discussing in this interview they’d already discussed with Jon & Kate and they knew where Jodi & Kevin stood on these issues. I think they were still respectful of them even if they were telling the true story.

I wouldn’t necessarily say they’re brainwashed, they just haven’t quite figured her out yet. The older twins Cara and Mary have often stated their mother is a pain in the a** and how she drives them both crazy. It’s been stated they don’t want anything to do with their father, but I don’t know if I believe that 100% based on how they feel about their mother. As for the other four sextuplets (Alexis, Aiden, Leah, & Joel), their time will come. I’m sure they know how difficult she is to live with, but maybe are more afraid to stand up to her than Collin & Hannah. Can’t wait for the day when all eight of these kids come together as adults and write a book about what life was really like having Kate Gosselin for a mother. 😢

Amazing how spot on Jodi & Kevin were about EVERYTHING in this 2009 interview. In Jon’s Dr. Oz interview last year, he basically confirmed all of this same information. Kate coming to Jon about wanting the divorce, the contract stating they could be separated but Jon still had to show up for filming, the damage it was doing to the kids, how the show just became a huge money-maker/ratings machine for the network, etc. The network was very sneaky about all this too. Because the contract stated they could live separate lives even before it was announced to the public that they were getting divorced, so they took advantage over Jon with that. Anytime he was seen away from home or something, the tabloids did not waste any time trying to get any footage or images of making him look like the bad guy who was cheating on Kate. So sad. Jodi hit the nail on the head when she said even though all the media was going to Jon at the time, they all believed Kate had been unfaithful to Jon too. I do believe she was having an affair with that bodyguard Steve too. I feel like just because Kate was the woman she got away with more and was easily able to get people to feel more sorry for her. It seems to me like Jon confided in Jodi & Kevin about Kate a lot during this time. I notice how they seemed to really have more negative things to say about Kate than they did Jon. They just could not completely target Kate with the issue on TV since there was not enough evidence about everything yet. I think they both actually liked Jon and had good relationships with him. I think it was really Kate who they were upset with for wanting to end things with Jon, putting fame & money before her family, and how she was treating the kids. Must have been so upsetting for Kevin to watch how money & fame completely destroyed his sister and what she has done to her family from all this. 😢😢😢😢😢

All these years later and we finally have confirmed truth. The kids are all 18 and over. John is free. But the damage kate has done to that man and her children is irreversible and unforgivable in my opinion. John must feel so much better after all these years amd the truth is out. I'm sure he'd love a relationship with all his children but kate alienated then from their father, another thing she'll have to live with

I used to watch the show - but I *remember* >So< vividly, Kate ``BeRatING`` Jon in the grocery store. Ever since then, I thought she's a horrible person. Also remember when playing games with the kids, she'd try to win, saying something like 'they have to learn' or something like that. She is absolutely aweful

Had they done this interview now, there would probably be a lot less backlash towards them since we have more evidence now. But back in 2009, there just simply was not enough yet and the kids were all still very young.

@@mandykay9928 I believe it was meant as a message to Kate’s brother and sister-in-law, saying not that she’s “the best” but they know her better than anyone, that they know what she’s really like. And of course they did. But damn if the show didn’t reveal the real Kate to everyone even though the editors must’ve tried their darkest to make her look good. She was obviously a terrible person, clear from the first episode. Back in the 2000s I used to read snark on a blog called Gosselins Without Pity because it was too stunning to believe what I was seeing on tv and had to make sure others were also shocked. Gumgate was the big one!

Kate refused to let Aunt Jodi get paid by TLC even though Kate frequently dumped her kids with Jodi (and her own young kids!) and there was a lot of filming at their house. Kate though that money was somehow taking away from “her cut”! That contributed to the total breakdown of their familial relationship. Kate has estranged herself and her kids from her whole family, Jon’s family, and even COLLIN. All of Kate’s toxic behavior was obvious simply by watching the show, which was with her approval of the edit! So imagine what was on the cutting room floor, or what happened off camera. Which, tbh, soon there wasn’t much that was ever off camera!

According to Jon, Hannah, and Collin all the TLC money went directly to Kate after the divorce. There was a stipulation that due to “Jackie Gleeson” style child labor laws (Aunt Jodi and Uncle Kevin the State involved to recognize the children as workers, otherwise they’d be screwed out of payment and had no limits on filming) Kate had to put some of that money into trust funds. But only she had access to the accounts and she spent Hannah’s and Collin’s money ($100,000 from each) which could be illegal. It’s a similar situation with the Duggars. Only Jim Bob got paid by TLC. The rest of the family was at his mercy.
