What a pretty landscape. After watching this video, It’s like one piece of my heart is still stuck in Japan. It’s people, shrines, trains, pretty places, culture, innovative products.. that binds u to Japan. Love from India.

A really good video of an amazing rail route. The stop at Ohara was something else...long. If I was a passenger on that train, I'd be thinking of renting a car, somewhere. But, that's single-track railroading. The really amazing aspect of this video was that it showed the incredible amount of engineering and effort that went into building this route. My hat's off to the folks who built it and maintain it!

Well, those people take the train because they do not have the money to rent a car or own one. And you are not a passenger on that train anyway.

This is not America! Plenty of people who HAVE the money to rent a car or own one very sensibly CHOOSE to use what is one of the most efficient, punctual, reliable, clean, and cost-efficient railway systems in the world -- and everyone benefits as a result.

There are express trains on this route, in fact the fastest trains to Tottori. You can take those if you pay more and don't want to enjoy the slow journey.

I have to say that, of all the many cab ride videos, I find these railfan aunz trips the most relaxing. Extremely enjoyable. 🐨🇦🇺

Excellent video!😊The stop at Ohara was a little long, but at least we got to see another train😍I love following the train routes thru Google maps and comparing the views. Sometimes the maps are 4-5 years older & other times are newer than the videos. Exploring on street view is always entertaining as I "walk" thru the villages & cities around the stations. I appreciate you taking the time to record & share with the world!😉👍

I do that too and thought I was the only one. My friends think I'm a little crazy to enjoy this.

Damn! I thought I was the only one to use Google to follow the train routes! I use Google Earth, however, but I do drop down to the street view at many stations to have a "look around". Cool stuff!

Fantastic video. One of the best I have seen. The aspect of looking out the window gives you the feeling of flying through country side. Well done AUSNZ FAN !!
This video is excellent. There are so many places where you can stop the video for a cool still, like at 1:47:33. Look at the traditional-style houses that you entrer by crossing the canal (which is probably a mountain stream being routed through the town)! Wonderful cinema. Thank you, Railfan Aunz.

Just so that viewers know what to expect, the stop at Ohara is 27 minutes long (from 41:28 to 1:08:28) to allow for the passing of two other trains in both directions.

Is standard at the KVB in Germany. Nothing unusual

27 minutes are still short. Last week I only drove 2 stations. Usually 6 minutes I was on the road for 1 hour

For those stuck at the station around 41:50, the train waits for 20 some minutes for another train to pull up and depart. The signal changes around 1:08:01 And departs the station shortly after. Edit: it's real subtle when you watch it live, but if you increase the speed to x2 the clouds move quite nicely. And comparing the shadows on the track for just 25 minutes of time passing, the sun is moving quite fast, showing that the approximate time of day is late morning when film.

Mac, I usually use 2x for most of my train vids around the world (hundreds of them). Must admit this is the first time I've used 1.25x. This would rank amongst my top 5 train vids.

If you can read this: _domo arigato_ for this video. It's the first time I've seen the trip from Kamigori to Tottori on a "local" train instead the _Super Hakuto_ limited express train.
