Another great show Matt! I'm actually getting the Overland in 4 weeks time, after heading to Melbourne to ride some trams, then the train to Adelaide! Will be a great trip , just a shame they won't let me off at Lofty..lol. Will be in Stirling on July 29 for a week , so let me know if your around. Cheers Gregg.

Overland is a great trip mate! I'm jealous. I wouldn't mind going for another trip myself at some stage. Arguably, the train should stop at Mount Lofty or Aldgate and even Narine near Mount Barker but you know how these things work... I should be around then mate. Would be nice to catch up. That Adelaide Hills bypass is a no brainer! Freight to an from Adelaide could be handled by shuttles to Tailem bend & Two Wells

That could work and cause the shuttles would be shorter services with only having Adelaide freight (Probably only a third of the full length), it would make crosses at Mount Lofty & Balhannah possible with Mount Barker Passenger Services!

It’s not a passenger car. It’s a crew car used from Port Augusta to Perth. Out there most trains are three or four man trains. The crew car is for one of the crew to rest it. It has a kitchen, lounge room, several bedrooms and shower facilities.
