I think Aurora fully understands what she is singing about. Depression is a killer sometimes it is a supreme achievement to keep on going when you want to sleep and wish never to wake up. She has magic and power I am lucky to have accidentally discovered her.

I play this song almost every night now before I go to sleep, most of the time more than once. Each time I listen I seem to connect a little bit more. In 2013 I was in a very dark place, so dark I tried to take my own life more than once and I can seem to relate these lyrics to various parts of those dark times. You see not many people know I'm lucky to be alive.

Wow, it's just so incredible how she plays with the melodies and changes them slightly when she performs live and makes the performance personal. Aurora grabs your insides and doesn't let go until the end of the song and you just ride the emotional wave with her. She's such an authentic talented singer songwriter. It's crazy to think about that Aurora wrote part of "Lucky", including the chorus, when she was only 9 years old. The rest of the song was finished when she was 18. She explained the song's meaning to The 405: "It's about realizing that you've been through dark tunnels in life, but still walking forward, both feet strong. We are all lucky to be alive, it's an important thing to remember." When asked in an interview by Bergensmagasinet if the line not everybody knows that I am lucky to be alive was inspired by a specific event she said: "It can be interpreted in many ways. I am hypersensitive and very sensitive to everything around me when it comes to sounds, lights and the way people speak [the tone]. It was difficult for me when I discovered that not all children are as well off as I am; I thought a lot about how sad it was, and that I'm just lucky to have been born right here. It feels so random, like a stroke of luck, like something I can easily lose. There is a lot in the world that you can feel threatened by, things that can make you think that I will not survive this."

What a glorious concert! As for Aurora's 'Lucky': It's so powerful - I hear a person that has gotten to the verge of suicide many times and is numb to the possibility of escaping that path. Then, in the bridge she says "But, I know that its time to let go." And the final chorus is more jubilant, hopeful and uplifting. Letting go of "what lies behind" and feeling how lucky they are to be alive and "see the light".
