Baby hawk is way too heavy and the mini fight looks so much better. Simple wins out for me. Keep 'em coming dude, your one of the few I trust as far as reviews are concerned.
@scootroter48596 жыл бұрын
bry robson... I totally agree! Way too heavy for a 2"... good ones that size weigh 60-ish g ... Not 82.5 ! Sure, it probably gets better when you do the 2.5" arm mod, but it should have come like that in the first place ... I don't want to have to go to all that work just to make it good! Plus, that honkin' capacitor hangin' out the side like that! Seriously?! This quad is so0o overrated because it's made by Emax! If it had Eachine, Happy model, Furibee, Awesome, or practicality any other brand it would have been below average.... Which it is!
@stishy756 жыл бұрын
Very elegantly put, but I'd have to say even for a 2.5 inch prop the baby is still a bit porky, if it lost 10 grams (and the capacitor sticking out the side) it would be a much better option.
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I brought in the babyhawk-r as to highlight the differences with the babyhawk-r getting all the hype right now.
@jjt18246 жыл бұрын
My bhr with 2.5" arms is exactly the same weight as my minifight. Bhr should have come this way. They fly very similarly and have the same run times now. Very pleased with both. My minifight did randomly drop out of the sky yesterday. Not sure why, should not have been a failsafe...
@alexcrowder16736 жыл бұрын
Just thought id point out that if you are using the pyrodrone 2.5 inch arm kit for the babyhawk r, it will actually weigh LESS than the aurora minifight. Pyrodrones arm kit weighs exactly the same as a stock babyhawk r (6 grams less than the other 2.5inch kit). So the babyhawk will end up around 85-90 grams with props and reciever. The minifight actually weighs 94 grams with props and reciever. It does have better parts though. Id definately feel more comfortable using 4s on this 28amp esc than on the babyhawk r. It honestly baffles me that the babyhawk r can even run 4s with a 12amp esc. I know it can, I just dont understand how.

@Nick Burns The carbon on the bottom of the frame under the camera is to protect the PCB of the camera. Have seen many instances where having that small carbon extension has helped save the camera's board. Being that micro cameras have PCBs exposed. Drone Camps RC had a video comparing the GT90 and Baby Hawk R, where he damaged the GT-90's micro camera in a crash. Due to a direct hit to the lower portion of the camera's PCB. If the frame had been extended similar to the mini fight, it wouldn't have been an issue. However you might spend less money buying a new micro camera over purchasing air cans to get all of the dirt from building up inside the hole!

I recommend the minifight. I don't have the leader but I can tell you that the minifight is very powerful, punchouts on half throttle. Hope this helps.
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
The leader will win out in outright flight performance, but only by a slight margin. I believe the mini fight frame will be more robust and it also has the ccd cam which is a big improvement. The mini fight also has the xt30, so many won't have to change that out, the xt30 is a more robust connection and easier to plug and replug imho.
@scootroter48596 жыл бұрын
Nick Burns... Thanks much Nick! That's the first thing I did when I got my Leader 120 was changed it to an XT30. Everything is XT30 or XT60... the JST is dead, may it rest in peace! Only the Tiny Whoop connector will be allowed to carry the JST name! Hmmm, I always thought the Leader 120's frame was a great design and very durable. The Mini Fights frame must be awesome! Co0ol! How does the Leader 120's camera compare to the Mini Fights? In what way is it worse? Take care Nick!
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
while the leader has one of the better AIO cmos cams, it doesn't compare in any way to the ccd micro cams like the mini fight has, the new cmos (not AIO) from foxeer and runcam are very good too. Some have broken arms on the leader, I would expect those same people to have to crash harder to break the mini fight frame.

@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
I would think it would have to be on an uneven surface, or an upside down crash. Bottom mounted battery and the motors/arms would protect the camera in a ground crash. The only cams I break are from higher mounted cam and upside down crash. But maybe.
@grapefru6 жыл бұрын
Im used to flying five inch and with the 2.5 I'm looking for something that doesn't break and feels similar to a 5 inch. Should I go for this or the lightspeed?
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
Coming from 5" and the ccd cams on 5", I think you will be more happy with this this. The leader120 slightly out performs, and is less expensive. But the components in the mini fight are better, and the frame is also more robust.

RC-Fan NL... You have an intermittent short somewhere. Try arming it without props on and wiggle every wire, etc. Anything you can think of! If it resets, you've got it! Let me know if that helps!
@deadmoo836 жыл бұрын
If you can't find a short, I would also try turning down the output power down on the VTX, if the VTX is powered off the 5v from FC and not battery voltage. 200mW might be overloading the voltage regulator.
@scootroter48596 жыл бұрын
Curtis Campbell... Ahh! Good call! "Sapping all the juice!"
@rc-fannl73646 жыл бұрын
I'll see of VTX uses the 5V, and if it does, set it one power level lower. I did notice the blue sleeves around the motor wires rubbing against the motor bells. I'll slide these back a little, or trim, or just remove, if all else fails.
@rc-fannl73646 жыл бұрын
I tried wiggling wires, no effect. I moved the blue "net-stocking" sleeves away from the motor bells, so these are no longer rubbing against the motors, and reduced VTX power to 100mW. First flight went well, but between the 2 crashes, it also flew fine, so I'm not getting the champaign out yet to celebrate.

But for a beginner? Wich one to shose?
@rwells2426 жыл бұрын
I disagree with your frame design analysis. That would be bottle opener would prevent the hit from going beyond a certain point upon a forward impact also protects from a bottom hit . If you remove it the camera and the cf camera plates would be absorbing the impact. Good flying as usual ; you do favor a particular direction however. Take that with a grain of salt as your flying skills are well beyond mine at the moment. Other than your frame analysis I do appreciate your honest feedback.
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
I see your point. But I think the arms and battery are missing from the forward impact model. It would need to be an impact against an object that fits between the arms and between the battery and top plate. The battery could become dislodged, but this will decrease impact at the very least. I can see where it would help if striking a pole or a tree stump while descending.

Witch one to choose for beginner: This one or the pocketquads.com
@NickBurnsFPV6 жыл бұрын
I really think this. The traditional carbon fiber is the way to go and will allow you to fly when the wind kicks up a bit. The pocketquads needs more testing in other pilots hands. The durability was good for me, but over time we will find out if that holds true for many. And repairs or transferring the electronics of the pocketquads to another pocketquad frame is going to be challenging.
