I don’t get why the defense keeps objecting to everything during these victims testimonies. Like damn you know this fool did these horrible things

@@Lin-dw9wq She's doing her job. There's a reason for every law. By calling her a witch you're saying that prosecuters are not capable of trying to get away with things. There's been plenty of examples of innocent ppl going to jail because cops and prosecutors were corrupt. I'm sure the defense lawyers new James was a piece of shit and that he was going to jail for his life.

I hate to break it to ya, but EVERYONE, even the most hated criminals, have a right to an attorney. In fact, it’s highly recommended. These defense lawyers are simply doing their job. Not taking sides or getting emotionally involved, but simply doing what they are paid to do. This whole courtroom knows the defendant is guilty (if I recall correctly, i believe he admitted to it right after). It is now the defense team’s job provide their client with the “best possible outcome”. In this case, preventing a death penalty sentence and proving the defendant is insane. Possibly even avoiding your typical prison and sentencing him to a mental institution (andnI’ve heard that sometimes those places are worse than prison). So, they aren’t objecting because they believe Holmes is innocent, they object certain questions to reach their own goal of avoiding death penalty. Again, this is their job and emotions and opinions must be left out when taking on a criminal client.

While heroics are amazing and obviously absolutely respectable to say the least, you can't blame the second man for running. The immediate reaction to a situation like that would be fight or flight, and between fighting a man with an automatic rifle with bare fists, or getting the hell out of there, you're going to choose the latter. That man will probably have to live with the crippling regret of the decision he made for the rest of his life, however one cannot blame him as you presumably don't know what you'd do realistically in a circumstance such as that.

@@orsonlepherd7064 It's not heroic to protect your kids. It's your duty as a father. He didn't need to fight an armed man with his fists. He needed to make sure he did everything in his power to take his kid or kids with him. It's completely irrelevant how I think I would personally react in the same situation. Here's how im almost certain i wouldn't. It crosses my mind all the time while Im out and about with my family. I catch myself thinking about how i would protect my kids in various scenarios based on our location. And in the event that Im wrong and I do abandon my family like that. I guarantee the guilt would overwhelm me and i would expect everyone to feel the same way I do about that guy. Blame also has nothing to do with it. Leaving your kids in a room with a killer is exactly what the definition of coward describes. You can't argue around truth.

@@kenbrunet6120 ok that's true, but what I'm saying is just be more lenient on the guy. You don't know for sure how he felt and especially how he feels now.

@@orsonlepherd7064 Perhaps i'm biased because i have kids. But I can't see any reason to be lenient. From the perspective of his kids. Imo, What they deserved in a father negates any possible sympathy toward why he reacted the way he did. I understand what you're saying. But, I can't get past the kids.

@@kenbrunet6120 yeah fair enough. To be honest, I'm a late teen who has never had a girlfriend or of course kids, so in that regard I'm out of my depth trying to give my thoughts. I see where you're coming from and agree wholeheartedly, although I have a slight lenience for the guy.
