this makes me so sad, i want to cry. Caleb Medley is heroic for being so courageous as to take the stand and keep going like he is.

It pisses me off that out of all the empty room in front by the judges bench they fucking wheel him up and make him testify with no more than 8' between himself and the piece of shit who almost murdered him, yet managed to ruin his life forever.

Something I want to know is why are they only reaching for death penalty vs insane asylum? Why give him the mercy of death? You can't really punish someone without giving them a long time to think about their wrongdoing. Just go for life without parole! He can either commit suicide, get shanked or just sit there and wallow in guilt. Otherwise there will be constant deliberations over the death penalty, which means constant, daily reminders of that awful night for everyone who has been scarred by it.

I've watched hours of his psychiatric interviews and he was obviously afraid of death. He said he transferred suicidal thoughts into homicidal thoughts by planning this attack. Some people prefer life in prison over death, and those people should be killed. He has no guilt either. He said he was increasing the value of his life by killing people.

Is it messed up that I find it messed up that there was a link to a Batman: Arkham Knight trailer under the vid? Anyway, I hope Katie and Caleb are able to get past the horror of that night and push forward and up and never look back at that horrible night. I live in Aurora and am not too far from the Century movie theatres. I even thought about going to see that movie that night but couldn't get anyone to go with. If I was the praying type I would pray that the whole family is able to recover and not let this linger or get in the way of having a good life together. I know it's an unforgettable and terrible tragedy. But so is every mass shooting on this scale, and unless you can move directly forward and do anything to put this behind you, you'll only be giving in to what James Holmes wanted: to strike fear and discord
@marshalbass70989 жыл бұрын
Daniel Ramirez You can still pray. Even if you don't believe, it can't hurt. My philosophy is that if there is even a fraction of a chance that prayer works, it's worth it to give it a shot. Then you can't say you didn't at least try!

@@marshalbass7098 A fraction of chance if a prayer works remains nothing more than a coincidence. People can pray if they choose, but prayers remain superstitious and wasteful to the rational, natural, empirical, and skeptical.
@marshalbass70983 жыл бұрын
@@methodius8472 I'm sorry you think that. How does your rational empirical science explain an infinite universe? Does the universe have a boundary? If so, are we in a multiverse? Either way, if there is a final boundary then the nothingness outside of it extends to infinity. Thats just space were talking about. How about time. The big bang doesn't explain what was there before that. And matter. If there was a boundary with nothing outside of it then matter surely didnt come from nothingness. That means it's always been here. So you see, the laws that your brain can comprehend can never explain where existence came from. Therefore I submit to you that to discount the power of prayer because you dont think it can be explained is just you choosing to not be open minded. Which is fine. I get it. The universe doesn't need a God. Which is why Stephen Hawking said so. But outside the universe is when things start to get very strange, dealing with existence itself, and we havent even scratched the surface of understanding it. I dont think there is a man with a beard in the sky. But what is there is so far beyond our understanding that we are like ants.

Why do they make people go through this after Holmes admitted he did it? Having witnesses like this does nothing to indicate if Holmes is sane or insane.
