"Running with the wolves" was written when she was 13, she was inspired by a Blood Moon and as said in another comment she imagined that humans were becoming savage. It was published on her first EP "Running with the wolves" which also included "Runaway" (the song that revealed her worldwide) and "Little boy in the grass" in tribute to the victims of the Utøya massacre in 2011 where one of his friends was murdered). AURORA has performed this song hundreds of times (like "Runaway") and sometimes it gives an incredible spectacle on stage, never dared by anyone, with its dancers who behave like a pack of 4-legged wolves and at the end she moves forward with she became “the alpha wolf” towards the public (concert at “La Cigale”). You have to see it to believe it ! AURORA is above all a stage singer where she frees herself completely from all constraints, she is very expansive, she puts tenderness, passion in everything she does in front of her audience, she constantly dances alone or not, she has a very particular, changing voice, does not hesitate to reach very high frequencies or sings in the bass, depending on her mood, she is unpredictable and her fans (whom she calls "warriors" or "weirdos") love not to know how AURORA will sing and dance, in any case we forgive her genius for everything, she deserves it!). The wires (not roots) are symbolizing our entanglement with technology. "The song is about having the animal instinct inside you come to life. Running with them, joining them - the instinct taking over, giving you freedom and making you forget about your human self and all things we humans keep around us in the modern society. I think humans need to let go a bit more, shake their bodies more often, like the animals do.. It’s a beautiful thing really. Nice reaction👍 This song was released in 2015, and is on her debut album “All my demons greeting me as a friend” (released in 2016) which also includes “Runaway”. Her album “The Gods we can touch” was released in January 2022 and is her latest album. She’ll release a new album in June😍 In an interview with The 405, Aurora said: "I just imagined the moon turning all the people around the world into wild animals, running away from all the rules, all the materialism, and technology. Great to see you back with Aurora, guys! 👍🤟 "Wolfwalkers" is a very good animated movie. Aurora adapted this song (changed it up a bit) for a very pivotal scene in the movie. Although there are no wolves in this music video, there are certainly wolves in Wolfwalkers! You'll be even more impressed with Aurora after you see her perform live. She's a phenomenal performer.
