It is so strange how the same song can feel so different. The studio version is full of righteous anger. A warrior fighting for the earth. But this version is so sad and beautiful like she has gone past anger and is now pleading.

I prefer the live version. It is raw, hard, angry and Arora really rocks when she sing this from the stage. I have heard her singing The Seed two times live, and I will never forget it. Aurora is definitely the number one artist in the world today. In performance she is stunning and totally captivating. Her voice is unbelievable. As a song writer she is prolific, and her originality stands out. She is totally sincere, her lyrics are powerful yet sensitive and she is adventurous melodically. The vocal and instrumental arrangements are superb, both acoustic and electric versions. She is such a refreshing human being, totally original and so wise. To me the title, “Aurora” also includes her band who are part of her, helping her to develop and perform her songs flawlessly. I am totally hooked and I try to expose her to as many people as possible. My wife and I recently I had the good fortune of seeing her perform in Sydney. She didn’t disappoint! Graeme S

My opinion: They are so consistently excellent. One of the (many) lovely things about Aurora, the band, is that there is a certain innocence, or maybe privacy, that is about her music, she/they don't sing about this or that lover who jilted her/them or destroyed confidence, they sing about how [they] are hurt, destroyed, lifted, exalted, etc. by the community of mankind. How refreshing!! Surely they have private/personal lives, but that is just that..personal/private. How pristine yet so deep and connected, personal in fact. Again, refreshing, and INSPIRING ACTION. Although the band is Aurora, I can't assume it's one person, they are a well-oiled non-machine. love them!

It is sometimes quite hard for me to go back to enjoying the studio album recordings when her live performances are so strong! To me she truly shines the most when she has freedom against a living backdrop, less electronic intervention. Her voice comes across as more dynamic and emotional and flowing in her lives, I think, so I was so glad to see what she was able to do with this particular intense song. Very affecting. :)

Well, in the studio, it’s difficult to not use all the bells and whistles available to you ... it takes an enormous amount of restraint to keep things “pure” (to use an imperfect word). I much prefer these strip down versions of her songs as well, they allow her to fully use her vocal and expressive power, and I find it very refreshing in an era where most of the music one hears on commercial outlets is digitally massaged beyond comprehension.

Everyone who is saying, "this is beautiful," or "her voice is amazing," I hope you guys realize what she actually wants to say. Nature is being killed everyday. Mountains are going bald because of deforestation. Plastics is everywhere bec we are consuming so much commodity. Buildings and condominiums are rising where trees, animals, and micro-organisms should be alive. So, yes, her voice is beautiful and she has a great message. You are moved by it, but the real question is: are you moved enough to make a difference? Will you still carry this song everyday when you waist food, water, consume too much of nature, and stay ignorant of what is happening with nature? She's right. Let us be angry, not only to the business owners who ruin mountains and rivers, but also to ourselves: we have a part in all of the greed and ignorance of the world.

Brooke Linton if you are an American citizen go to local town hall meetings, write to your politicians(federal or state and local level, better yet both) and go to most any event wear they or other members of the government can be found and ask what they are doing. Take public transportation or walk if you are in a city or places that have them, join local organizations that are pressuring businesses to be plastic free, and if you have spare income then start a savings to purchase solar panels or other devices that you know produce clean energy or accomplish a task in a clean fashion. If you are not in America than find the equivalent of a town hall meeting or local government and ask them how they are addressing climate change, and if they’re not pressure them into doing so. Find or start a group in your community that works toward building a greener community. We are not powerless, and although we may be small, together we can make a difference and it only takes one to start a movement.

This is so wonderfully choreographed that it's like a music video in it's own right: The blank white background that it starts on before slowly panning up towards Aurora sitting with her legs folded in on top of her box conveys her feeling of isolation, like she's stranded with absolutely nothing around her ("just like the seed, I don't know where to go") Yet, at the same time, her pose suggests something meditative that's peaceful within its sadness, as though she's been brooding on a sad truth. We see a faint flash of anger as she balls her hand into a fist and sings "through the struggle", only for it to then release and open up softly again. As that other comment below suggests "this version is so sad and beautiful like she has gone past anger and is now pleading." Then as she sings "I unravel myself in slow motion" we start to see her begin to really move and open up now. As it comes to the chorus, this camera that's been so close and claustrophobic slowly starts to move back. And when the chorus hits, it's soft and quiet, despite the build up, suggesting this same 'balling of a fist only to softly let it go' feeling. We see more of Aurora's body again now though, and she cradles her legs in a tight hug, rocking herself slightly as she signs the sad truth: "you cannot eat money, oh no." And then, as the second verse begins, we really see her open up and climb down from the box. She's moving much freer now, having sung that sad truth, and she stands next to the box with it like a table she imagines flowers growing out the top of. It's as though the box is now the seed; that rather than being the lone thing she's trapped upon, she now able to at least try and find a way to help it grow. Then, as the chorus comes round a second time, the camera pans to reveal the rest of the band: Aurora's not alone and isolated anymore. There are others who feel the same as she does, who share this grief and care for the seed, and now they sing with her. Aurora seems to become more energetic and empowered. Then, as it gets into the bridge, she makes eye contact with the camera/with us for the first time. Drawing very close with her head raised up and her hand to her throat as though to gesture that we have been suffocating her. "feed me sunlight, feed me air, feed me truth and feed me prayers" becomes her direct call to us. By the time the final chorus comes in, the camera's zoomed out much more so we can see all of Aurora now, she's much less trapped and isolated. She dances incredibly expressively, there's some sense of hope in this, despite the sadness of the truth she's telling. There's a sense of things picking up, of the seed having hope of really growing now. However then she falls to her knees, almost begging, praying because hope is a start but it's not enough. She makes eye contact a final time now at the very end, on her knees, begging to us for our help. Then she closes her eyes and falls silent. The song ends. Masterpiece.

I seen her live in Auckland, march 2023. It was phenomenal, her on stage energy is captivating and contagious. Also had the absolute pleasure of meeting her after the show, it was intimate, with few people, and she gave time to all of us. She really is, as genuine and as lovely as we see online. Thank you Aurora 💜

Just like the seed I don't know where to go Through dirt and shadow, I grow I'm reaching light through the struggle Just like the seed I'm chasing the wonder I unravel myself All in slow motion You cannot eat money, oh no You cannot eat money, oh no When the last tree has fallen And the rivers are poisoned You cannot eat money, oh no You cannot eat money, oh no You cannot eat money, oh no When the last tree has fallen And the rivers are poisoned You cannot eat money, oh no Oh no Suffocate me So my tears can be rain I will water the ground where I stand So the flowers can grow back again 'Cause just like the seed Everything wants to live We are burning our fingers But we learn and forgive You cannot eat money, oh no You cannot eat money, oh no When the last tree has fallen And the rivers are poisoned You cannot eat money, oh no You cannot eat money, oh no You cannot eat money, oh no When the last tree has fallen And the rivers are poisoned You cannot eat money, oh no Oh no Feed me sunlight, feed me air In a place where nothing matters Feed me truth and feed me prayer (dancing around a shooting star) And every cell remembers Feed me sunlight, feed me air (that have taken us this far) I see images of killer whales Feed me truth and feed me prayers (sleeping in a desert trail) Dreaming of a parallel world where nothing ever hurts Dreaming of a parallel world where nothing ever hurts You cannot eat money, oh no You cannot eat money, oh no When the last tree has fallen And the rivers are poisoned You cannot eat money, oh no You cannot eat money, oh no You cannot eat money, oh no When the last tree has fallen And the rivers are poisoned You cannot eat money, oh no Oh no

From time to time comes an artist who is very unique and special that they present work this is of the boundaries of all things that have all been tried before. They bring something totally new in artistic expression. Aurora is such an artist. Not only does she create great work in the studio but it is in her live performances in the usage of body language, vocals and facial expression that makes her an extraordinary artist. Even in her interview we know it is a gentle soul who is talking to us. I now believe in angles because with Aurora I have seen one. :)
