Just watched this episode, and found it still emotional. We were there 10 years ago, and no one can understand the "feeling" unless you have been there. It should never have been allowed to happen, we must never forget those poor people. 😢

The video was expertly filmed, very informative, very tactful and very sensitive. The expressions on you faces were evidence of your feelings while you were there. You had a similar reaction there to mine at Dachau "what a terrible place" How could an apparently civilised nation do this to other human beings is absolutely beyond belief. I haven't been to Auschwitz yet, I want to, but I'm not sure if I can visit it emotionally. I have been to Dachau and Belsen, those was sad and sobering enough, it was the same, most people walked round in silence or if they did speak it was in very hushed whispers, and that wasn't even a proper extermination camp. At Dachau lots of people were murdered there but not on the scale of Auschwitz. just seeing the spectacles, shoes and suit cases of some of the victims is a small glimpse of the enormous scale of the operation. At Belsen there are stone markers there beside huge lumps in the ground with inscriptions such as here lies the ashes of 3500 people, here lies the ashes of 2500 people, there are lots of these stone markers, I didn't even try to total the numbers. The day I went there it was a cold, grey overcast day, it made the place seem even more desperate. This history must never be forgotten, the history must be remembered to avoid this sort of evil ever happening again!

Morning Misty, it really is, it’s incomprehensible that a human can treat another in this cruel way. The sadness at what we saw will stay with us forever Xx

Thank you both for covering this disturbing period oh history. Especially as we commemorate Armistice Day and the signs “Lest We forget”, this should also carry that poignant phrase as demonstrated by the unrest currently raging across the globe.

Very sympathetically done. I probably wont ever get the chance to visit Poland but it was interesting to follow your vlog. I did get a chance to visit Belsen concentration camp in Germany when I was stationed there so I can understand what the atmosphere is like at Auschwitz.
