Im English and speak little German. Me and my partner travelled to Koln to see AMK. They are incredible live, we have translated most of the album so know how to sing along but couldnt understand inbetween songs. The bass player is Sophie! Shes absolutly awesome and is a solo artist in her own right. Also they are playing at their local football teams stadium so they are absolutely buzzing!!

This is a love song where the text describes not the admiration for the looks of the girl but her feistyness, her standing up for her believes - the most stand out thing for me, about this song - apart from it being huge fun, of course ;-) Henning was very emotional that night and not ashamed to show it - he performed a piano ballad that he only played that night (as he promised us), it was not released. It captures why he is so captivating on stage and created a spine tingling moment (there are mobile phone recordings on yt... It is called:'Schmetterling' (butterfly))

They confirmed Sophie Chassée to be their proper, new bass player in 2022 I believe - after Malte decided to leave I think at the end of 2020 or so. The Proberaum Sessions are basically the live arrangements with strings and wind section as they are playing bigger and bigger venues on their 2023 tour. There are 3 episodes of tour-behind the scenes-documentation ( with English subtitles) which give insights into it. Keep enjoying the AMK ride.

At least for their Live Performances. Du bist anders / you are different is another song they have a busking version in Spain from 5 years ago and a bigger arrangement version in the Proberaum sessions. I like them both in their own right. Just in case :)

"Ich würd dich auch nach Haus bringen" doesn't really translate to "I would also take you home" but in this context it would rather mean "I'd even bring you back home (either by car or accompany her on foot or the bus/train she takes home to drop her off)" I'm German and I'd understand it as a way that he wants to pursuade her to go out with him. You'd use the "auch" to make it sound even more appealing to go out with him... she doesn't even have to go home alone, he'd even bring her back to her place.

I also got to hear this only 10 minutes after it was released! This was special, because Ausgehen is probably my all-time favorite song of theirs. I know you have only reacted to the recorded version of this before this gem dropped, but my favorite version is/was the Proberaum session version of this song. If you have time, please check that one out, too - it has the same vibe as this, but I have to say: when this dropped it just might have risen to the top of my favorite performances of them. Henning is on fire in this one, LOVE LOVE LOVE to see them performing live. Sophie the bass player was also in Proberaum sessions playing bass. You have reacted to "Ich geh heut nicht mehr tanzen" Proberaum session version, but they also recorded Vielleicht, Vielleicht & Ausgehen in that session - and also Drei Tagen am Meer, which is also a fun, laid back song & one of my favorites on the latest album. All of those performances are far better than the recorded ones, so I'd suggest you check some of those out, too. Love your reactions!

With Henning it sometimes feels like even with his singing he can't quite get all the feelings out, so he has to "infect" other people. I also love that even as "front man" he always steps away to show off his band or other singers. You can see and hear how much they all love making music.

You got that translation wrong. It's not "I think i like the way" means " I think I like the style" while "style" as translation of the german "art" means more like her personality, her acting, her kind of person. That's the best description I can give you =)

Sophie Chassée is the new bass player associated with the AMK trio. The former one wanted to go his own way. She can't just play the bass, she studied it on music university. While her name indicates french roots, when I saw her in an interview, she was talking as a native German speaker.

I wrote English lyrics to this based on the fact that this song has a gravity to it t when you don't know the lyrics. This seems kind of like a reverse-pumped up kicks phenomenon. The the one that ends with "ausgehen" the line is now "Can't you just treat me like I'm human?"

Hi @Walterrooski, you asked about the female bass player (Sophie Chassee). She was starting off with AMK doing some Giggs with them but now she is permanently part of the band. The previous Guy left the band following other interests. These is a kind of funny story behind she was sharing during an interview. Henning saw her somewhere on a festival where she was slapping around on her bass guitar. After that he was going to her and said that he liked how she played. He asked her if it would be ok to call her in den next days in order to talk doing something together. She agrees but didn't believe that he really calls. It's quite usual that people in the Music business say things like "I call you" but they never do, she said! However, Henning called and now she is there. I think it's an important cause to them. To take a political stand even though their lyrics aren't as much ( Weisse Wand or Parolen from 12 being the exception). I wouldn t be surprised if thry thought while being an all boys band they thought making Sophie their permanent live bass player - while her ability is compeletely unquestioned anyway - they and her would have thought: time to make a woman part of it. Accordingly whenever they cover a song which refers to a man or boy as the love iterest/ counterpart Henning consciously ( I believe) sticks with the male version / pronoun.

Ok, so 3 days ago, I didn't know that band. Somehow KZbin felt that I am missing something in my life. I have watched more than 10 reaction video channels reacting to this band. 1st of all, the are German. When ever did you see a German Band that well received by non-german speaking folks? In the 80s? Falco with Rock me Amadeus? 2ndly I was like: Why are they doing only covers? And I asked my friends if they knew about this band. Yeah, they plan on festivals and so. And I was imagining small crowds like 1000 people. And then I thought: Why aren't they popular like BIGGG? With that voice, come on! The Band's name is rubbish, AMK would maybe have a chance, but not 6 syllables. WTF were they thinking?!? I am glad I found them. I need to check out more of their German stuff. I hope that it holds up!
