Ok but now you have to listen to the Kölsch version with Chris singing more as well!

Crissi has a really beautiful voice, I love when they harmonize with Henning. They complement each other so well. I'm not entirely sure, but I think this song was mainly about Crissi and his past relationship falling apart. You can see him visibly getting emotional in this. The credits also name him the lyricist before Henning, even though they wrote this together, like most of their songs.

I always think of it as Christopher's song and there are live performances, where he takes the lead voice

Christopher’s song about a broken relationship. Henning always looks at Christopher as he knows how emotional and painful it was for Chrissy.

I had the precious joy of attending a concert of them and let me tell you, this song there made a core memory: there were two girls in front of me vibing to the music, but when this song came by, at some point I see that one of them stands still and just turns to her friend with her eyes FILLED WITH TEARS as we listen "I ask you again, and you tell me nothing" her friend just hugged her and it was so sweet I can picture this memory as a movie frr

Good morning! This is an enjoyable morning routine by now: rediscovering AnnenMayKantereit with you 🌸

Thanks for responding to the request ❤ the smaller busking versions from 4 years earlier when they recorded the album in Spain are the starting poimt. In the Kölsch version in fact Christopher Annen sings more - as he seems even more familiar with the Cologne dialect ( Kölsch) - and both older versions show the basic version of the old album before they then last year prepared for performing this on bigger and bigger stages. Hence the Proberaum sessions with La Chapelle, including Sophie Chassée on bass and Ferdinand Schmalzl as their arranger and trumpet player

I think its a unique talent to transport feelings from a different language and someone who does not speak the language picks up the message

It's interesting, that it also goes the other way around with the language lessons for me. Every time someone on yt reacts to Henning, he is talking about the veins in his neck. And I think everytime 'It's not his neck.' Cause this sounds like Genick in german. But now I looked it up and learned, that you guys don't have a word for the back part of the neck, which would be Genick in german. So the whole thing is neck english and Hals in german. The front would be Kehle - throat. (veins is pretty similar, it's Venen in german 😉) But for Genick you don't have a counter part. That's the only little thing I don't like on learning a foreign language. That you guys often don't have words for what we say and we just try to describe the actual meaning. But it always feels not really right. That's why you always get some different translations from us. It's like dancing around the real german word, if this makes sense. But together we get it, I guess😜9

Hey, english has a word for Genick, it's nape :) I think it just isn't as widely used as our Genick

I read books in English sometimes and everytime there was neck I thought it's Genick and sometimes the scenes got confusing because of this :) It took a few years before I accidently discovered my mistake. These damn false friends!

Germans have a reputation of having no sense of humor, but they do have quite a hand for sad love songs, don´t they? ;-)

If you want another version of this beautiful song there is one on a wall walk. While the song is not as colorful as this version the environment is just beautiful weird. They play it in such a narrow public space that a tourist tries to squeeze by while they play.

If you love German Rock poetry, you should try out some older stuff like „Ton, Steine, Scherben“ or the solo stuff of their singer „Rio Reiser“. Just like AMK they got poetic lyrics and a very charismatic singer. Udo Lindenberg or Herbert Grönemeyer might be kind of your stuff as well.
