Dark Imperium was $220AUD, Sisters Battle Box was $350AUD I think, so I presume that this will be up in the $500 like Necromunda Dark Uprising. Basically we pay around 30% extra on top of conversion rates with GB Pound. Really want the set only for the SM, but am too dreading the price.

I'm surprised they went with Guilliman and Abaddon on the limited edition cover, when the box contents are Ultramarines vs Necrons. I'd have thought the G vs A cover would be the general cover, and have a cover with Necrons and Ultramarines on the limited edition. Not that I'm really bothered either way. Looks like good value though, as was expected. As someone with marine and Necron armies, it's pretty much an auto-buy for me.

As someone with no interest in playing marines, but who loves the necrons, I'm really disappointed they didn't make a UvN cover for the limited editing that comes in a UvN box. I was thinking of picking up this box myself and sell off the marines, but am now considering just buying the necrons from someone else and grabbing a normal edition of the rule book. The LE version is not one I find very interesting and it would look out of place with all the other books I have, a regular version would probably suit me better. I'm not wanting to hate on the book itself, I can see that for people who like the design (and who like marines), this is a great idea and for them this would be a great LE version, but as someone who exclusively plays Xenos and who really loves the idea of this whole box (some of those marine models almost tempt me to paint them myself), I felt this was a missed opportunity to give something special to the Xenos players, especially in a box that is UvN.

The kits look fantastic. The only thing I wish they’d done was give the marines shoulder pads that aren’t already attached to the arms. It makes the kits far easier to paint if the shoulder pads can be done separately.

Hey Auspex Tactics, apsolutwly LOVE the work you do. Honestly you have demystified 40k so many times over you truly are priceless. I watched along with the stream this morning and I wanted to open up a conversation on the release of 9th. I believe they are going to come out with a starter set not just this item. On the live stream this morning they alluded to something in addition with this set. so I believe it will start with the release style of the Adeptus Soritas. Once out likely in August we will be recieving another box kit that is a genuine starter set. The reason I believe this stems from two ideas. The introduction of crusades, and there verbiage when disclosing info about the box. On there website they specify it's a treat for veteran gamers. The lack of essentials featured in all previous 'starter sets' are missing. These are the dice, measurements, and simplified/core rules. This to my knowledge have been present in both starter sets in '40k' and 'Age of Sigmar' meaning the contents when inspectsd feel like a premium box set. A mix of the apocolypse detachments and forge bane. Excellent usuable minis with a thematic focus. When talking about theme, the core rule book is a big give away here. The rule book included is a limited eddition product. It is, based on the information I have heard from the livestream, a special incentive not to be standardized. I feel this box set is to hype the release of 9th addition as well it is being pushed to incentivize hype for the silent king model in addition to all the new sculpts coming for the necrons. All in all, it wouldn't make sense to me personally if they quasi removed/limited the ability to have a centralized set to learn 40k. I really hope I did not come off as attacking, I genuinely wanted to share my thoughts on the curious nature of the indomitus box. I would love to hear your feedback and looking forward to expanding this conversation as new info comes out. I adore your videos and Will definitely become a patron, the stuff you make is top notch, keep it up!

This is meant to be a launch set for returning players and the limited nature of this is supposed to enforce that a starter set for people new to the hobby is in the works.

The two player starter will probably have a less fancy box and core rules and the other junk. So the launch box will be the first month and will probably be available until at least Aug or September. The starter set will come out probably in and around August (mid to late) and have the "basic" core rule book (no fancy artwork), quick start guide...etc. Probably will come out at the same time as the smaller starter boxes.

Sooo, I've got some ideas on how to convert some of these into Space Wolves, like giving the Judicar a large axe, getting a SW terminator set and giving the shields and weapons to the blade guards, giving chain axes to the A Intercessors. But others like the chaplain is going to be challenging

Hard to say if there will be any exclusive figures that the starter sets will omit. There is a whole Chaplain, Ancient and Judicar push fit sprue. Back in Dark Vengeance, they had the limited Chaplain in the first run which wasn't push fit and then the Aspiring Champion and Librarian (non push fit) were further omitted in the 2019 rerelease.

I think that it will be limited run then a cheaper box with less models and the standard rule book will be released to serve the rest of 9th. As the new App is goint to be released at the same time as this box then you will have the rules on paper and digitally hopefully which will make things easier to carry arround.

Over all I'm pretty happy with the launch box. I was still a little disappointed to see that with the revamp of the Necron's model line that they still went and put the scarabs with the warriors spures. You have to buy one unit in order to get the other completely separate unit. Maybe they'll surprise us and put them out later as a box. This box and all the new stuff to come is going to hurt my saving account. :)

tbh I kind of don't like the direction they've taken the Primaris, though I really really like the direction they've taken the necrons. I think it would have been nicer to see a realistically proportioned set of terminators and jet-pack intercessors with some new scouts. The big problem with primaris imo is that GW has been trying not to have them simply fill the roles of space-marines. The vets and assault-intercessors look sluggish in contrast to assault-marines, it'd make more sense in a phobos -armour, but I don't buy that these marines would find this loadout more effective than a rapid-fire weapon, the jet-pack was like POW! you're in the thick of it, ergo you need a melee weapon, whereas this... eh. (At least with terminators you kind of knew they were (visually) robust enough to take hits, had a bolter UZI, a teleportation-device, maybe a shield, and most of them a power-fist.) Also the Judiciar has this fantastic looking sword, but the leather is too much imo, it's almost erotic the way it peels away to expose his chest, and the helmet is visually confusing, he looks like an alien anime character. The huge time-piece is also too much, especially paired with a two-handed sword, it's just hard imagining him getting to a target outside of a very formal duel with all his shit. (I don't have anything original to say about the bikes, buggy and turret.) I don't know though, just my opinion, obviously some people really dig the new designs. I just would like them to keep a little more to the classic marine formula, but push the designs to be a little less clunky than we've had in the past (without chucking the baby out with the bathwater). Something I think is missing is the heavy-weapon specialists you used to get in marine squads, rather than this eldar like squad specialization, I wouldn't hate a shotgun/missile-launcher/flamer/melta/plasma among Tacticus -Armour units.

the sisters sold out quickly due to the demand being higher than expected. since this is melee marines it should last noticeably longer. but the wise thing to do if you want it though is get it ASAP, just incase.

I really, really hope they don't make same thing as with Shadowspear ie. repack monopose models as Start Collecting. That would be shame.[edit] Ok, so it's multipart for warriors, nice. That give me hope for start collecting with new warriors, destroyer and tripod thingy, maybe?

Does anyone know if Space Marines will get a new codex soon after the launch of 9th edition? I'm still relatively new and I'm not sure if I should get the current codex or just wait. I'd like to have the rules to look over now but if it'll be replaced in just two or three months then I'd probably rather wait.
