@jarredmarko4951 Awesome work mate I always have 4 rods out two with popper rigs I’ve caught some good fish on them take another year of fishing to make up my mind if they make a difference. They work best I think when the tide is running hard tight lines Dave

Another good video mate. Very informative and i like your thoughts and your reasoning about your rigs. Just a thought, rather than cable ties, maybe try a short piece of 12 or 13 gauge copper or brass wire. Thread the fish the same way and do 3 or 4 twists of the wire, then lay it flat along the fish. Wire can be used a few times as well. Just a thought. Cheers 👍

Nice rig Dave & good to see mono on the bigger rigs. Mono is stronger & more abrasive resistant than fluorocarbon by a fair amount for the same breaking strain.

Hi Dave Enjoy your episodes we like to lure fish I think it our AĎD. Always found you informative and down to earth. If possible would prefer to see you use something less disposable than zip ties, gamefishing we've use biodegradable rubber bands. Keep up good work 👌

Nice video Dave, I'm a big fan and look forward to your fishing videos. I've been watching a few videos from Mat Watson NZ Ultimate fishing - when he snells a hook onto the trace he tries to get the natural curl of the nono to align in the direction of circle of the hook. I'm a bit undecided on your popper rig but following with interest.
@aussfish999511 ай бұрын
Mine are the same when I tie the circle hook it follows the natural curl of the line awesome hook up rate I’m still undecided on the popper rig but it hits good fish

The local boys are gonna be filthy with you! First you reveal their super secret spot under the bridge now your giving away their secret rigs
@aussfish999511 ай бұрын
😂😂😂 Well I have been using that super secret rig since I was 13 everybody I grew up with used that rig every break wall warrior used that rig and every guy in a boat I fished with used that rig chasing Jewfish. Worst kept secret in history. The Bridge guys have been fishing that since it was opened in 1971. A little side not I walked over it with my class mates on that opening day when I was eight. Worst kept secrets in history 😂😂😂👍

Hi Dave do you think there is much ,if any, difference between the Schneider leader and regular mono line. As per your recommendation I want to "go get some:" 55lb mono as it's chesper and a 300m spool or is the leader more betterer as trace material? Nige
@aussfish99957 ай бұрын
The Schneider line is really quite thick and has good stretch in it and a good price point I love it I use it for Jewfishing on the beach live baiting the River and as trace to braid if I’m casting big lures for Jewfish 👊👊

Been following your popper experiment with interest Dave and you are constantly catching on it seems to be working well,I was wondering do you think the popper ever gets hit instead of the yakka if you get a bit of a run but don’t hook up?
@aussfish999511 ай бұрын
I’m not sure mate maybe I’ll have to really monitor that on my two popper rods definitely food for thought

Lovin the vids Dave. I just got to find time to get out and chase them. Have you thought of instead of tying the popper on, utilising a rubber stopper ( similar to blackfish rig), therefore could adjust distances on leader with the popper, and eliminates another 2 knots where the knots could fail?? Chad
@aussfish999511 ай бұрын
I had not thought about that Chad 👍

No that’s true Jason my wife and I love to eat fish. I’ve killed more fish in my time than I care to even think about. Back in the day we just gaffed the Jewfish and layed them out on the deck. We would keep 4 and 5 big fish at a time I’m not sure why that’s just what you did 😳😳 As I’ve got older I don’t know I just can’t bring myself to kill a Jewfish
