Euro civs get mortars which have more range and can probably deal with it eventually but... without them or siege cards like the japanese bonus range one, I think you're gonna have a real bad time. Not sure if heavy cannons work?... Also Lakota doesnt even get any long ranged siege so they dont have any way to deal with it at all I reckon.

yes way back in Nilla there was a French player that only built walls, insane amount of walls very quickly and would micro your ability to cut through them, I gave up a couple of time due to boredom

I like this style. I really enjoy when you mention the rules of thumb for market upgrades or dock upgrades. Its helpful as a new player to know when I should look to buy the upgrade.

yeah i guess it is pretty annoying to be up against - a build limit of 14 fortifications in age 3 and 28 in age 4, rather than the usual 7 - a 143% HP increase stacking multiplicatively instead of additively with other increases - a 2k HP war chief that can take out your cannons - arrow knights that you can't culv because your civ doesn't let you (if culvs even work) - an already by default beefier version of the Outpost

My friend celine did this a lot. Won her so many games. Super effective for team game too for buying time for your allies because it took too long for the enemy to take them down. One of the best cheese I have ever seen 😂

I mean the only real response to this would be to shut down the fire pit. Whether or not that's always doable is a different story, but in this case the Aztec player built out HEAVILY to the south. His eastern entrance was far more exposed, only without many fort slots left to play with in the event of a rush.

Why do you harvest food before gold as Dutch? Don't you need to max workers (which cost gold) ASAP to compete? I have trouble balancing reaching Age 2 in time to stop the extreme AI rush vs getting enough workers, so I tend to mine gold the entire game.

I'm main Dutch, you want to reach second age as fast as possible ofc. This you can do by putting 3 of your start vills to gold so you can create vills steadily and the rest on food so you get fast age up you should be around 16 vills when aging up if you also send the 3 vills card.

wait I think the HP increase from town ceremony is bugged Percentage increases in AoE3 usually stack additively (which is why the Kurassier nerf can exist for example), but the town ceremony increased the noble hut HP by 143% of 6900 rather than by 143% of 4500 or 3000

It's not really bugged, that is how it was designed, any pasive upgrade that doesn't come from techs or shipments is added to the final stats rather than the base stats. The same happens with the iro warchief HP aura and other things like Daymios or the Japanese wonder whose name I don't really remember

So if, for example, an aztec unit is 100% stronger in imperial age because of upgrades, the total amount of their attack is 200%. And the biggest attack buff you can get from the war dance in the fire pit is 27% if I remember well. That 27% is added on top of the total 200%, so if you think of it like any other upgrade, it would actually be 54% on base stats. That also applies with spanish unction, but with a higher percentage

Well, one is an autonym, and the other is an exonym. It's the same difference as "French" versus "Français" or "German" versus "Deustch". _Haudenosaunee_ is how they call themselves in their own language, whereas _Iroquois_ is the word Europeans used to talk about them. In all fairness and logic, the name used in the game should probably be _Iroquois_ if the game is played in English. All other civilizations are referred to by their English exonym, not the word they use to call themselves in their own language. If you want to laugh a little bit, have a look at the exonyms that the Chinese use to talk about other countries, it's quite surprising!

it does require a 3v3 but you could make this more annoying by adding a Portugal player with team walls and a Chinese player the the great wall card building excessive walls, i have tried the later part with friends and the stats are really dumb on the walls.

All the examples you give are just translations of those people's names into english. While the situation with Indian Americans is westerners actually making up names for them. Calling people by the name that they asked to be called is basic human decency. No need to get heated about this bro! Don't let my mild suggestions stop you from enjoying the game.

And I think you're correct, names are going to have to be translated because different languages have different sounds and such. However I think the distinction with names like Soiux and Iroquois is that they are new names made up by the people who colonized them, not simply translations of there actual names.
