Thanks for the feedback. I generally try to keep my reviews around the 15min mark, but there was a lot I needed to cover with this truck and after several takes, this was the one I was most happy with and it covered all of what I needed to say. I'll try to keep them short-ish in the future, but if it takes longer it may be with good reason. Cheers :)

Nice review. I watched it all the way through and did not think it was too long. It is nice to hear some different perspectives and experiences on rc kits.

Great review ,one of the most informative ones that I have watched. I just bought this truck yesterday ( before I watched this episode ) I hope I got one of the new and improved trucks

Wow. I was gonna buy this truck next cause it seemed pretty good value. After seeing this I think I'll rather keep looking. The slack on the front tires and the problems accessing the Spur gear (I've gone through 3 already on my Nexx 10sc and it is a 5 min repair) are bad enough to look elsewhere. Thanks for the review, very nice and thorough.

You must have done this review before I subb'd I just found it. I am a bit confused. This truck is RC Car actions "truck of the year" and The Jang from URC gave it a decent review as well and he is know for his unbiased reviews. That being said. You did seem very honest about what you liked and didn't based on your experience and that's all a viewer can hope for. I was leaning more toward this truck than the SC10 4x4 which is well known for being a very complicated race platform, for an entry level 4x4 SC basher and weekend racer. So I will do a little more research before making my decision. Thanks for sharing.

Trust me, I'm just a s confused as you. I saw Jangs review prior to doing mine and, although he experienced some of the issues I had, he was way more lenient in his review. I guess this review is just a reflection of the experiences and frustrations I had with this truck and, in the end, I just couldn't give it a score. I don't quite get the whole "truck of the year" thing. There is NO WAY this truck is worthy of that. Even if I was being too harsh on it, there is just no way it deserves that title. But it's a magazine, what do you expect...? Now, I have heard that some of the issues with this truck have been addressed (like body posts) and the truck is a bit better, although I'm not willing to buy another to find out. I did buy this truck pretty much on the day of release, so some things may have changed since then. But even so, I think there are better options out there. Just my opinion... Thanks for watching the video. :)

Aussie RC Playground the truck of year thing has been given to any and every truck that a mainstream company (trx, associated, losi ect...) that they have released (or damn near it) it makes as much sense as jeeps trail ready rating any moron can get it if they ask for it

I am a Associated fan but my b4.2 and my RC10 both had ESCs that were not stuck down right and the RC10 has one V2 shock that has only one o-ring in it, meaning a big leak.

Well it's an all metal driveline so I'm thinking it would be ok but I am now thinking of going with the HobbyWing XeRun which every one says is the best and is very strong and reliable. I was amazed that even experienced racers and bashers recommended the HobbyWing!

I was looking for replacement body posts, but they are out of stock just about everywhere online. I called Associated and they told me that there is a new batch coming soon, but didn't give me an exact time frame. They apparently used the wrong material (too brittle) for the initial batch and this new batch will have the proper material. Unfortunately, it will be the same design with no height adjustment.

@AussieRCPlayground11 жыл бұрын
Well, if they improve the plastic on these posts then it will improve the durability a little. I would still spend my money elsewhere, though. This truck is not Ready-To-Run, it's Ready-To-Rebuild! ;)

Don't regret it too much. I hear that there have been some improvements since this review. Also, this truck won truck of the year last year (2013), so I think I may have had a bad version. I don't think it's great and there are better options out there, but don't feel bad for ordering one, I think it's better now than when I first bought it. At least, that's what I've been told. Did you know they are bringing out a Rally version of this chassis, now? I'm almost considering trying it out to see what they have changed...

Aussie RC Playground aussie don't blame associated for this failure and that of the qualifier series thunder tiger orchestrates the qualifiers and associated placed trust in them. they don't look over it that much so this is thunder tigers design with associated electronics but even the radio is a rebranded thunder tiger

I don't think I can get that truck here. I've never heard of it, but I did search for it online and found a supplier, but they don't ship to Australia. So, I don't think I can review that one. Sorry. :)

So when I bought the prolite I thought I could race it... well I'm racing now and with new tires it's great. I just need to work on the slack in steering. You have any idea how I would fix that up? Thanks

For a review video, i think it's slightly long. You can split the video into two where you talked about suspension tuning and the like.
@AussieRCPlayground11 жыл бұрын
Well, yes, but if I had uploaded a 10sec video simply telling people not to waste their money on this truck just because I don't like it without explaining why, I don't think anyone would really take my word for it. Not saying they will, now, but at least I have presented them with enough reasons to make an educated decision to why they shouldn't.

Oh, be careful... This motor is ver fast and may put the HSP driveline under stress which might end up causing you problems. If you think it's strong enough to handle it, then go for it, otherwise it may not be a wise choice.

MUST have the parts manual because it's an AE hybrid of sorts (but parts are readily available w/part #s on Ebay - this guy is totally wrong). I LOVE THIS TRUCK! Super light weight & durable. I'm not one for mocking BUT this guy running tests on the street & complaining about the spur/pinion w/zero clutch spring adjustments in between... IT'S MADE FOR DIRT & by the time he put it on the dirt they were both toast! Mine is 2 years old & haven't had 1 single complaint other than the shocks... in which I installed the Factory Team Big Bores for $49
@AussieRCPlayground10 жыл бұрын
Just because I have a different opinion on this truck, doesn't make me wrong. You have your opinion, I have mine. That said, I bought the truck when it was first released and I believe it's had improvements to its durability since then. So, if you're enjoying the ProLite then congrats, but I've driven SCTs worth less money that are more durable and drive way better. Hence my review. Thanks for watching... :)
