As a drone pilot I very much appreciate the multiple drone angles, the combination between slow motion, regular speed, and hyperlapse, and the HDR colors with sunset in the background not blowing out the sky. Absolutely beautiful on many levels, edited to the music. Excellent video, something to Aspire to

Great novel launch! The launch looked like there was something missing , but when you look close at about 1.25 you can see them wheel/push it onto a horizontal platform that is actually a wedge shape sitting on a typical sloped marine railway . As they then slide this wedge shaped carriage down the slope into the water it eventually just floats off with the ship staying horizontal the entire launch . The light weight and flat bottom center hull of this Aluminum ship allows them to do this and saves building the boat on a sloped surface as was common In the past. (A ship this size could not be launched over an edge as it would put too much stress on the hull) . Building sideways uses more dock edge and the extra width would make it hard to do a typical sideways launch with the big splash. Nice innovation guys! Cheers Warren

@roguemale TheOne&Only It's common the world over for ferry services to be cancelled in rough weather. I wonder if it is because the ships can't handle it or if it's the potential of hundreds of people all getting sea sick. Could also be because of the car deck, if cars can move in rough weather the insurance claims will outweigh the fares paid.
@peterschmidt14534 жыл бұрын
@roguemale TheOne&Only Austal make trimaran littoral combat ships for the US navy from aluminium, I would expect the US navy would insist the ships are capable of operating in the worst sea conditions as war time operations can't wait for calm waters. A ferry trimaran would be to a lower spec, but it sound's like it's mainly damage to the vehicles and sea sickness that restrict rough sea operations.
