Very convenient to have a slot in the valve, saves buggering about with a suction cup stick that wants to keep slipping off. 😊

Valve being ground should be lifted up slightly every few revolutions and turned half a turn to redistribute the grinding paste

Learnt something, never used a spring to help with the valve grinding, looks a good idea & will try that the next time I do this, thanks for sharing!
