This a favorite of the Home Fries! It’s the most requested song for Tim and Austin’s side project, Sweet +Low. Their accompaniment is provided by Sebi Douyon on keyboard, Chris Chatham (also an a cappella singer), and Tim’s brother in law, Chris Marion. Chris Chatham is also in Sweet + Low. Chris Marion shows up to their performances sometimes, too. Sebi is an accompanist for Austin frequently and has a small studio where Austin does a lot of recording. These guys surround themselves with amazing talent! You should check out Tim’s solo work, particularly Will You Still Live Me Tomorrow/Stay!!

Lol Tim actually did "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" on his *Pieces of Me, Vol. 1* album! 😉👍🤯 He not only sang every part on that entire album 🎶, he did all of the beatboxing/sound effects including the animal sounds in that song! 😳😁😂 That whole album is ridiculously amazing. ❤

The other guys are friends of Austin and Tim. The one with the glasses is Tim's brother in law, the guy playing the key board is Austin's friend who plays piano in his videos and Chris is an old friend of Tim's. Tim can sing 5 octaves but has a deep voice when he talks.

This is one of my favorites!! Austin and Tim together just sounds awesome and when austin comes in ……wow! And it’s always a treat when we get to hear Tim go high! At the concert I went to last year austin was sick so Tim did all of Austin’s high tenor parts! He has a sick range! I’m not sure if Jillian has heard any of the songs where Tim goes high! The look on her face told me she hasn’t!

I actually remember the original of "My Maria" by B. W. Stevenson in 1973. Always loved this song. I was not familiar with the Brooks & Dunn version. I really loved this performance by Tim & Austin & the other guys. Liked Austin singing in his lower register. I don't think I have ever heard Tim sound so clear & crisp in his upper falsetto range. Who would ever believe that he is a natural bass who can drop down into the basement depths. Wouldn't it be cool to have these guys perform for you at home?

So you're a Virgo. That 'splains a lot! Another backyard deck performance that I love (on Austin's channel) is his duet with Chris Chatham doing Eric Clapton's "Change the World". Chris has a long history with Home Free, and is a full-time member of their second band "Sweet and Low Music Co.".

This was filmed on Austin's deck that you see him building in his Earn It video. If the camera had panned to the right you would have seen the beautiful pond that is in so many of Austin's videos. The third vocal here is Chris Chatham, a long time friend of Tim's. They were in Blue Jupiter together. I think any of Austin's solos with a key board is with Sebastien Douyon and any with a guitar is with Steven Martinez, his one-time roommate. Note: the Austin Brown t-shirt Tim's wearing is no longer available. I wanted it when I first saw it but had to wait for the end of the month to order it and it was gone by then, never to be seen again. Dammit!!

This was probably pre-recorded, and they were singing to it, they’re good like that. But it could’ve been live. Cicadas generally start in the evening, and you can tell the lighting change from the song to the outro. It’s getting dark and the cicadas were making their noise. I’ve heard them do this live a few times at those Backyard Bashes they are talking about. It sounds just like the vid. When Tim entered the room for the event, he was talking and it’s just crazy the deepness of his voice. Then when he’s singing he can go from the lows to the highs, and it’s crystal clear. Amazing!

The same day that this was recorded, Austin recorded a fabulous cover of Signed Sealed Delivered with Sebi, Chris Chatham and Jenika Marion (Tim's wife) on vocals. Then he killed Neon Moon with Chris and Sebi. You need to check these out, though you might find Neon Moon too sad for your tender heart! Sebastien is indeed the pianist on so many of Austin's home recordings, but is also a great arranger and producer. These days Austin records his Home Free stuff at home in his own studio and leaves Sebi to send it through. You can hear his awesome ability as arranger on Empty House, which was sent to Austin as a demo. What these guys did with it has to be heard to be believed. The composer hasn't revealed her name, so it's on the ResurrecSis Music channel. Possibly the best thing Austin has ever done and confirms many people's opinion that his true genre is blues.

Hahaha you’re such a audio nerd Jeremy! Tim was just showing off his 5 octave range for ya. Chris on guitar is a long time friend of Tim’s and he’s written songs with Tim and he played guitar on So Long Dixie with Home Free. I saw them in concert and Chris came and played guitar on that song with the group…it was awesome. That’s the deck that Austin built on his house during the pandemic. It shows up unfinished when they sang Moonshine. Sebastien often plays piano/keyboard for Austin on his channel. They’re all so good and Austin and Tim and friends formed another group called Sweet & Low where they tour in people’s backyards when Home Free is not touring. 🥰😄😍

Thanks, Jeremy and Jillian! I am really enjoying your HF Fridays. Jillian should join you on all your reactions - she is such a delight to watch. This was another great reaction. Regarding the cicadas, they don't usually come out until dusk, and the video looks like it was filmed while the sun was still pretty far up in the sky. Could be that by the time they did the outro, it was dark enough for the cicadas. I don't think Tim or Austin would present something live if it weren't actually live, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I enjoyed watching you guys, and have subscribed. 🙂

Tim has a 5 octave range, remember. To really hear the awesomeness of Tim, you have to hear his do wop solo album where he does all the acapella layers himself! He has many videos on you tube: Will you Still Love Me Tomorrow/ Stay, In My Room ( my favorite) is stunningly beautiful, Since I Don't Have You are just a few of them. His duets with Peter Hollens (they have an entire album) will amaze you. Misty Mountains, Greensleeves, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Blackbird, Fire and Rain, and Sounds of Silence are just some of their creations with walls of sound that will mesmerize you. Peter and Tim will lay down 100 plus Tracks of their vocals which will create a vocal experience you won't forget! Peter is an amazing arranger with well over a billion view on you tube alone.

After you mentioned that, and when I listened VERY carefully, Chris's guitar was at the back left CORNER of my head. I can hear the discussion - so, we have 2 world class tenors and a world class bass - who should have the high line? I see others have told you about Tim's do-wop album and Lion Sleeps Tonight - he let it slip that he did a video for it when they were in OR this summer. I know Austin and Tim have the capability to record at home for HF, and Sebi does work in Austin's studio, so it could have been pre-recorded, but we do know they are excellent live. You could watch Tim's 2023 Birthday Brunch (Sweet & Low) for a live version of it - there at least one video out there.
