A reaction like this, and especially a song like this, deserve more than a "like" button. Hey KZbin, can we get a "love" option? Or perhaps a virtual hug icon?

Austin is Phenomenal! I break down into tears every single time I watch and hear this. My daughter asked me why do I continue to watch it if it breaks my heart every time? Simply answer is I just can't stop myself because it is the most beautiful performance I've ever heard! It draws me in! Yes it is painful to feel grief but after a few minutes of recovery time I somehow feel much better! Don't really understand why or how that works " completely " from a physiological standpoint but as a nurse for many years I know that it is a way of resetting the chemical balance in our brain. The effect of crying releases the" feel better or feel good " chemicals. So... I return to the video over and over, for the beauty of Austin's talented voice and music, because of the natural healing he brings to my body, heart and spirit! He deeply touches my soul. It almost feels Holy to me! He is like a minister of music for me, a true gift from God! ❤️😢✝️😊

This one definitely is very emotional and you could feel it in his voice and see it in his face. It pulls on your heartstrings! His voice just gets better and better. The setting was perfect for the song, and Sebastian on the keyboard playing so delicately was perfect! Like you said, anyone who’s suffered losing a loved one can definitely relate. If I could see either of my parents and my brother (whom we lost in 1979 at the age of 28), I would do it in a heartbeat.

Hi Lyle. I've love this song since it first came out and it always made me melancholy, but after I lost my youngest son in 6/2020 it resonated so much deeper. I even learned to play it on guitar for my son. No i can never make it all the way through before I'm sobbing. But Austin's rendition is amazing and does make me cry, but it's a good cry. Love that it touched your heart as well. ❤ ya!

Wow is right! Heard it now several times, still hold my breath and hadn't thought about that until you mentioned you weren't breathing! It's always been such a special song since Clapton first introduced us to it and the story behind it. Super sad and powerful. So now to hear our guy Austin do this one, slow it down, let his emotions just drip through the song, wow. He's a really special man. Take care.

This is a tough one to get through, not only because of its back story. Makes me think of my beautiful mum who left us almost 3 years ago. I hope that she'll know me in heaven ... Austin's voice suits it so well as he can put that 'cry' into it that makes it that little bit more emotional still. And as for HF... I'm in the UK so I'm a few years away from seeing them again as well. Thankfully we're still getting this amazing content to keep us going. Good reaction. Love the fact you're not afraid to show that you're touched by the music. Keep that side to you always!

Not even the first sentence in and I'm already crying. The song is so emotional, for obvious reasons, but its almost the anniversary of my mother passing and well at least she now has dad with her. He passed last November. Austin's voice is just beautiful. He does a wonderful version and yeah, breathing was optional here. Thank you for sharing this.

S'up, PG? I LOVE your reaction! I had forgotten about this song. Oldie but goodie!!! When you have a chance, would you please, PLEASE react to Courtney Hadwin's AGT audition when she was ONLY 13? She sang Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle", written in the 60's and popularized by the Black Crowes in 1990. Her audition has over 500 million views 😱 and AGT ranks it as their 4th most viral moment in the show's 15-year history! You would LOVE this girl's performance! Here's the link - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYGrh3-uop2IY5I THANK YOU!!!!! 🎶🎶🎶

I remember so vividly the day that it was announced that Eric Clapton’s sons tragic fall from the high-rise apartment. He loved his son so very much. This young man has a beautiful voice but I’m sorry it’s sacrilegious to me for ANYONE other than Eric Clapton to sing this song. There’s something sacrosanct about Eric Clapton’s loss and pouring his literal soul and heart into this song for his son there is unsurpassed pain they only can be projected by that of the father who lost their son.

Clapton stopped performing it in 2004. Says he doesn't feel the loss anymore. I guess this song helped him through his mourning period. I think Austin's performance here is beautiful and moving.

I'm sure Eric himself wants the song to stay alive for others to heal through it. For that other singers have to sing it too. 20 years ago I had neighbors who lost their teenage son and they played this song on repeat day and night. It helped them. They played different artists doing it, although mostly Eric Clapton. I'm not saying you have to like others singing it, please stay you, just that this song wasn't just for Eric, it was for anyone and everyone that feels relief from it, no matter who's performing it. 🥰🙏

Austin’s version is respectful and did it justice. It’s an emotional song that touches everyone especially those who lost loved ones. Covers like this make the original relevant and introduces it to younger generation. There’s nothing sacrilegious to this version.
