Austin Butler ‘Carrying a Lot’ of Lisa Marie Presley With Him on Oscars Night (Exclusive)

Austin Butler and his agent, James Farrell, chat with ET’s Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner at the 95th Academy Awards. Butler, who is nominated for Best Actor for his performance as Elvis in the Baz Luhrmann biopic, shares that he is 'carrying a lot' of Elvis' daughter, the late Lisa Marie Presley, with him on this big night. The Oscars air Sunday, March 12 on ABC.

It was bull. Fraser made a comeback in a gross movie, his acting was not better either. He sat in a fat suit THROUGHOUT the movie. Austin sang, danced, and acted and wore a fat suit in the end, plus acted all ages of Elvis. The Oscar members don't know squat. Tonight just catered to the Asian population. The Oscars were more concerned about pleasing diversity, than rating the best actor or movie.

That is very true that Austin brought Elvis to a whole new generation! My then 15 yr old granddaughter knew who Elvis was and she was familiar with some of his songs. She also knew who Austin Butler was from a couple TV shows but she didn't know much about him. We went to see the movie when it came out in June. She was blown away by Austin 's portrayal of Elvis and has since become a major Elvis as well as Austin Butler fan. She has watched some of Elvis's old movies and has T shirts and blankets and other things depicting Elvis . She drew a picture of Elvis in the pink suit and has it as well as the big Movie poster of Austin as Elvis hanging on her bedroom wall. She also has many of Elvis' songs on her playlist that she listens to all the time!!

Part of Austin's appeal is his humble attitude . You can tell that he is very grateful to be where he is now. Some of the other young actors are just so cocky and full of themselves. Ok, this will be my final protest comment against Hollywood’s refusal to award Austin Butler a well-deserved Oscar while hyper-praising and over-awarding less deserving movies and actors in our humble opinions. I propose that we Austin Butler fans create a People’s Award Show 2.0 which will fairly and more accurately award the talents of more deserving actors and movies minus the politics. We will fairly evaluate and award movies like “Elvis” and actors like A.B. who are much more deserving!

I will never watch the Oscars again. Austin Butler and director Baz were shut out with 8 nominations, and what a disgrace!! Elvis was a project that took years to complete, and Austin worked his butt off only to lose to another actor who put on a fat suit, rubber padding, makeup and read his lines! The Elvis movie gave the world's millions and millions of fans the best acting performance ever by Austin portraying Elvis and singing his music! Another disgrace was Top Gun getting only one Oscar and Tom Cruise not even a nomination!! Good bye Oscars.......You will not be missed!!!
