yeah, first of one is the lead role and one is supporting, immediately making the first one harder, and secondly, needing to show or emobdy the talents of a talented person or knowledge of a knowledgable person (musician, athlete, singer, scientist, doctor) is arguably much harder than needing to to that with their perosnal life as that one is natural to all of us, but the talent/skill is what seprated them form us and makes them "special" in our eyes so no brainer who was better, but it is also dishonest to compare because of Elordi, he didnt need to show off, actually it would be worse since, well, the spotlight wasnt on him, so pointless really

A narcissist who has contradicted herself from one interview to the next for decades. Verifiable lie upon lie. You never know what to believe. And the facts coming out about the real P now.....show she was not at all the chaste "innocent" little teenage girl in Germany. Elvis was a class act compared to her. And the 7 foot tall actor with a 4 foot tall little girl! Really! Elvis was a great humanitarian. He was joyous , funny, deeply caring. He had a generous heart of gold from childhood to the end of his life. He was very human and his humanity was thrown to the wolves in the P film. Too many people know and love Elvis to fall form this. Nice try.

I was moved by the first performances and Austin did well obviously because the stage parts are hard but he didn't nail the confidence and ease off stage. It's an air about you not just the mannerisms and voice. And the movie in itself was terrible. It was all over the place and wtf up with the random rap and Cardi B parts.
@AustinMoona Жыл бұрын
@@evap.5121So the rap thing is a way of portraying the vibe that Elvis would give off back in the day. You see, in many ways, rap is today what rock n' roll was back in the day... Modern, rebellious, mostly popular among young people, music you wouldn't play around your parents, raunchy, music older people hate. You know? Elvis was a cool guy, always at front row... And they tried to portray that by using a little of today's modern music. It's a way of portraying what Elvis meant at the time. I don't like rap music but I totally understand Baz decision on that.
@evap.5121 Жыл бұрын
@@AustinMoona ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? rap now is trash it's not equivalent to the value of African-American blues, Christian gospel, and Southern country (Elvis' influences) back in the day. They obviously just wanted the average dumb American to watch the movie. TF are you comparing Cardi B to Elvis?
@AustinMoona Жыл бұрын
@@evap.5121 If your take on my comment was that I was comparing Cardi B with Elvis then maybe you should try reading it again. Although I was expecting you to reply exactly that. Allow me to be clear, I'm not comparing the cultural significance of the two genres or the cultural richness or the last longing impact on society they may have. And I'm certainly not gonna list the music genres that were the building blocks of hip hop music or the origins of it cause it's besides the point. What I was trying to explain to you is that today, whether you like it or not is irrelevant, rap music has acquired a similar character to rock n' roll during those days... Raunchy, rebellious, vulgar (in the eyes of many at the time), it was young people's music. Now we appreciate rock n' roll and Elvis's music almost as if it was classic music and we value the cultural impact of it, it's part of history. However, back in the day it was nothing like that AT ALL. I mean, they even tried to put Elvis in jail for christ's sake. So it's fair to say that a lot of people at that time judged rock n' roll just the way you're judging rap today. It's history repeating itself. That's why I think they used rap music in the movie, it's a way to portray Elvis as a young "cool" guy that was always at the forefront and what he represented at the time. If you would've lived in those days you probably wouldn't have liked rock n' roll either.
@AustinMoona Жыл бұрын
@@evap.5121 I didn't even know Cardi B was the artist involved in the soundtrack of the Elvis movie till you mentioned it btw, I don't listen to rap music but that's my interpretation of why the took the decision of including modern music in the movie. There goes my two cents on the topic anyway.

As a “huge Elvis fan”, you should know that the movie “Elvis” is 30% accurate 70% fictional for an entertainment sake. Butler was a far better performer in this case, but the movie itself wasn’t accurate by any means. Also, the movie “Priscilla” is based off of Priscilla’s book “Elvis and Me” which is probably the most accurate representation of the man you’ll be able to find besides interviews with his friends in the Memphis Mafia.

One thing that stood out to me was that Jacob stands about half a foot taller than Elvis. He looks so tall and lanky compared to everyone else. I know one could argue that his height works because it's supposed to be seen through Priscilla's eyes, but it was still something that stood out to me personally.

No comparison. Austin's performance was breathtaking; it gives you chills watching him. Elordi is nothing like Elvis; he's just acting.

I'm glad that Jacob Elordi is getting more mainstream, mature roles outside of "The Kissing Booth" trilogy, and that it hasn't held him back from being in bigger and better projects.
@RomaroBrandon Жыл бұрын
Honestly you can say the same thing about Austin Butler because he was a Disney/Nickelodeon star and if it wasn't for Elvis 2022, that's probably all he'll be known for. That's not a bad thing either but he said Jacob Elordi has now proven they're better actors than we expected.

@@johnjungkook2721 yeah because they have 2 different backgrounds and when it comes to playing Elvis Presley Austin Butler had more screen time and focus.

And I hope he gets more diverse roles since, for a guy that young, he’s already caged to the same abusive partner character.

Austin Butler does not look like Elvis at all. But by God he made me believe he was elvis, especially on the final scenes of the movie. As someone who has not lived in the era of Elvis, I almost got confused who the real elvis was. Instantly became an Elvis fan after seeing the movie.

Elvis the movie is far better. I read the book Me and Elvis years ago and didn't like it. Elvis is forever a special gift from God.

Austin Butler hands down but I was very pleased with Jacob Elordi's performance too. He also nailed the voice and mannerisms down. Great job from both actors.

they both did very good with what they were asked to portray. elordi played a great elvis that was being told from prisillas pov and butler played a great elvis in a different way

In my opinion, it's only two Elvis bio movies that matter, the 1979 version with kurt Russell and 2022 version with Austin Bulter. These are the best representations of Elvis. Haven't seen Priscilla yet, but the trailer seems like it's boring.
@maureen6907 Жыл бұрын
The Kurt Russell version was so underrated because it was a TV movie. TV movies were not seen as decent or "high art" as theatre releases. Kurt was able to get past his Disney image and get better roles. He even married the actress who played Priscilla in the TV movie .

Just finished watching it. It is boring. Shame.
@BeYounique...Maryanne10 ай бұрын
It wasn't boring (the cinematography was fantastic, and the clothes were awesome, also a great soundtrack of artists because Elvis music wasn't allowed), but I left the theatre feeling "empty." It was just "alright."

There is no competition at all. No one can come even close to the job Austin did. He gave a once I a lifetime time Oscar worthy(which he got robbed of the oscar)Oscar. I have seen the clips from the Percilla movie ad that guy doesn't even come close to the job Butler did let known Elvis himself.

I have no interest in seeing Priscilla because it just makes me feel extremely uneasy since I am massive Elvis fan (thanks to my dad), so, I'll have to go with Baz Lurhman's Elvis! Austin Butler worked his ass off to portray the iconic rock and roll singer we know and love. No disrespect to Jacob, but he doesn't have the mannerisms and voice for Elvis, so, Austin wins in my book! Also, Elvis actually hated the nickname "The King of Rock and Roll" because he said, "No, no, I'm not the King. Jesus Christ is the King.", little fun fact for y'all ❤️
