@@tonitessarolo1060 I think he said that because he just wrapped up the movie. In fact, it came out pretty quickly

@bradhuskers2 жыл бұрын
@@tonitessarolo1060 Obviously, a movie cannot capture elvis presley in the recording studio, laying down critically acclaimed masterpieces that are timeless. That being said, Austin gives an oscar worthy performance!! And Tom hanks brilliantly portrayed how poor a manager the colonel was. A degenerate con man who made extremely poor decisions throughout elvis's career. Elvis presley is timeless because he possessed the soul, depth artistry and diversity of an iconic artist. The colonel was merely along for the ride. AND he prevented elvis from recording and touring overseas. THAT ALONE speaks volumes about how bad a manager he was.

Most of the movie close ups of Austin with his blue blue eyes are hypnotic. They had to do something to capture our attention because the real Elvis had that effect on women. Elvis did have blue eyes too.

Why in Holy heck was the scene at Hollywood sign first filmed? It must be weird the way they film movies. I dearly love this movie because I was a huge fan of everything Elvis we even saw him perform in Vegas in 71 when he was still happy to perform there. And yes they said "Elvis has left the building" at the end. There's never been anyone like him not even the Beatles. They had to have 4 people together to come close to Elvis recordings totals. My daughter was the one who saw the movie and raved about it and she was only 5 when he died. To her AUSTIN BUTLER is Elvis. Loved loved this movie.

@@thelucieflower317 I was 21 and my husband 29 in 1971. He was in high school when Elvis emerged in the 50s. We went to Vegas on our honeymoon. I was so excited to see elvis, I just can't even describe it. After seeing the 68 special (I was 19) my dream was to see him live. The room at the international was packed and electric. Everyone waited to Leave until they said ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING. It's a mystery to me how Austin pulled it off. He can't quite believe it either.

Amazing memory to cherish. You are so lucky to have that. I remember reading they were quite a happening at the time...I just watched the '68 special in full for the first time the other day. My Elvis was movie Elvis. I grew up watching all his movies during Saturday afternoon TV matinees as a little kid. The movies were silly but he was a beautiful, soulful presence in my young life. Very influential.

Loved that too. I wonder what clip they will use at the Oscars if he is nominated. It has to show Austin's incredible transformation into EP. The song Trouble is amazing, but when Austin yells out "you don't even have a passport, you GD son of a b... Ch" I felt like I was gonna faint. It was such a surprise and nothing like the elvis I remember. After hearing Austin in interviews as himself, that scene was masterful.
