It was a Broadway play he started in with Denzel. The Ice Man Cometh. Denzel didn't recommend him for the role, Austin already had the audition. What he did say is "this is a young man with a work ethic unlike I've ever seen."

You haven't seen ELVIS 2022 yet? S H A M E on you guys! ahaha, jk But seriously, it's such a fast moving film & a roller coaster of a ride! It's brilliant acting from Austin, entertaining musical scenes & best of all you seem to be taken into the film & you're experiencing the life of Elvis in the eras of the 50's to 70's. Wow that's how I felt & how people are describing it. I love the vintage bygone eras. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, it's a typical kind of Baz, razzle dazzle of a movie, that's what makes it different to stand out. (What a shame you didn't get to experience the film on the big screen, it's a film that needs to be seen on the big screen!) Austin Butler' acting is phenomenal, he IS so much ELVIS himself in the film, charismatic & you can feel it, not kidding! Austin better receive the Oscar, or else, the whole ELVIS fandom will descend onto the Academy!!! 👿 ps: Would you guys be able to do some astrological voo doo magjick, to will into the universe, the Oscar for Austin, plzzzzzz :)) Cheers n tc

Only a few minutes in but it's funny you actually mention Ezra Miller but around the time last year when the movie was getting promoted back in may around the met gala so it was some of the first introductions on a mass scale people were getting to him. Someone actually made this wild rumor that he punched Ezra Miller in a bar in Japan so many people new him as the guy that found Ezra Miller before the cops 😭. Austins publicist spoke out and debunked the rumors but it's still really funny.
