Not underappreciated by people who were in the sport in his pro days. I don't think the younger generation appreciates anything that great people did before them, and it is not to their benefit. Ryan was one of the fastest guys in the world, and he did something nobody in the sport does today. He never followed anybody else with how it trained and what he did. He used his own brain and experience. He developed his own rational standards. Here is a quote from him in his 125 factory Kawasaki days, "I don't need any trainer or anybody else to tell me what to do. I know what to do." That is called being a man. :)

Cool to see someone who is already really fast, open up to new ways to improve. Instead of just hammering out laps. I really think Austin would do well in the 450 class.

That is cool you are working with Ryno. He knows his stuff! Personally I think he is a good guy. 100% he loves our sport!!! .. heck.. 10,000%. That being said, not every coach/trainer suits every athlete/moto rider. But when they do.. the magic happens and championships are made. I hope you guys kick ass when you get back to racing pro full time!

Austin, this is a great video! Although now I’m the same age as your number plate, I still want to improve. Thanks so much! It’s also great to see how receptive you are to coaching, especially as such an established rider as you are. I predict big things for 2024. The first National I ever went to was the last National at Gatorback in ‘97. The very first pro I saw was Ryno, as the 125s were practicing. He was definitely shredding.

I loved this! Loved hearing the instructions, which take me deeper into understanding riding. Ryno verified something I thought--something I learned when taking a training course on a street bike... look into the turn. I actually used that in a scene in my writing, just suspecting that it also applied to racing, and it turns out I was right! So I'm stoked! Also so good to see you working on the track, but taking your time to heal well and come back strong. Supercross next year??? Would love to chat with you in Atlanta!

I've been wondering where you were mentally after all of the injuries and everything, but the fact that you are willing to go to Ryno to help refine your technique instead of just doubling-down on an existing program tells me everything I need to know. There's no quit here, you're ready to start winning again. And Ryno knows his shit. I went to school for biomechanics and everything he teaches is consistent with the movement principals I was taught. I mean, the man helped build Eli Tomac into what he's become, and if that's not an encouraging thought then I don't know what is. Keep at it, man. Excited to see your return.

Awesome video. Awesome AF...lol. I always think it's so amazing that a very very good rider can continue to learn and adapt and get even better. It's a good metaphor for life. We can never assume that our way of approaching anything is the best, we must continue to learn and develop. Humility and honesty are the keys.
@codygoodwin1097
@codygoodwin1097 Жыл бұрын
AF paired up with Ryno could be a recipe for a ton of success; Austin said it himself in this video, he’s only ever been lacking consistency and or coming back from injuries as a result. Ryno, AF and Austin’s dad will all have great chemistry, new face, incredible insight and just mixing it up. If they start to gel could spell a lot of trouble for the 250 field when he’s healthy for SX next year, especially if Hunter moves up. AF has been the only 250 rider at any given point to straight up have raw speed to compete with Jett, aside from Kitchens moto at Lakewood last year.

After I first saw Austin on the podium in his rookie year, I admit, I wasn’t a fan. I didn’t exactly have a reason I just didn’t like him much although I did respect him for his talents. After a few years of watching him grow and mature I have actually grown to consider myself a fan. These past few years have been difficult to watch and I can’t imagine how they have been for him. With as much raw talent and speed as he had from day 1 of being a pro it is heartbreaking how insanely unfortunate Austin’s luck has been. Especially when it seems like each new Supercross season starts and basically ends in A1. I apologize for my ignorance and passing judgement after your first podium speech. I really hope that the bad luck that has plagued you in recent years is in the past and that your future is as bright as we all have seen it and be. It is great to see you riding and can’t wait to see you line up again some day!

Riding a turn track like this is probably more mental practice than physical - learning how to find a state of flow. After a few laps on a turn track the mind starts to wander a lot quicker than on a full moto track.

This is the first video I've clicked on from your channel, and I don't think I could've picked a better one. I grew up racing way before any of this technique was taught. So, now a 40 yr old vet rider I'm trying to unlearn bad habits and become a safer and faster rider. I'll be honest, the fact that Ryno was in this video is the main reason I clicked it because I love what he's about. However, I'm sticking around because I'm getting a better look into who Austin Forkner really is. I'm not saying this in a rude way but I wasn't really a fan of you before, and not for any particular reason. Great video though and I'm here for it! Good to see you back on the bike and leveling up your game 🤘🏻

From the 80's and 90's, to taking 18 years off and getting a bike again,---I now understand you can set your bike up the modern way, (tall seat, tall bars, more forward riding position, more rear shock sag to compensate.), or set them up old school, (since bike geometry is basically the same), if you are not doing rhythms or freestyle. Lower your bars, and angle your levers down again. See how much easier it is to keep your elbows up, and how much easier it is to drop into corners, (especially flat corners). Old school is the best set up IMO.

I work on technique everytime i ride. Even just letting guys pass me just so i can something slower and perfect my skills in that corner or section or whatever. I was amazed how much you can move the bike and or grip the bike with your legs. You can practically let go of your hands almost if technique is on point. Skills pays the bills, keep on keeping on
