I suffer from anxiety attacks. I'm ashamed because I believe they are my fault and I try hard to control them. But I fail everyday. I wake up everyday telling myself today I will be perfect. I won't let the lies overwhelm me again. I'll be the perfect daughter so I can finally be loved the way I've always dreamed of. But everyday the darkness takes away my hope. It's amazing for me, that even if I am a follower of Christ, I sometimes find myself in this cycle "fall down, beat myself up, repeat". I'm a perfectionist and maybe the truth that God has forgiven ALL my sins, including the ones He knew I was going to make after I entrusted my life to Him, is the hardest one to believe. I tried to be perfect at everything. I tried to do everything perfect and was desperate for validation from others because I felt so empty and worthless. I thought if I could be perfect and well liked then I could feel good about myself. When I was told I was doing well, I felt so great...but the feeling would go away and I'd feel like trash all over again. Any small mistake at my job would make me feel like I was a failure. Someone suggested I look at self worth stuff. I went on Instagram and tried reading all these self help posts. It didn't help because I couldn't just "love myself". Then I found this Christian account and found this post that said; "Until Jesus is enough, no success, validation or relationship will ever be enough. Only God can fully satisfy." Then I found this post; "God loves you because of who He is, not for what you do." I cried. This was me...I left God and made my job my idol thinking it would fulfill me. I asked god to forgive me and asked him to be Lord of my life again. The next day I went to work and I was a whole other person...I actually enjoyed working for the first time in a long time...it was like a huge burden was taken away, there was no more pressure. Praise God! He is so loving and forgiving❤
