This ship seems fun because in a way it is similar to a Vermont. It can do 30k damage in a burst if you position correctly between the bursts. Vermont has a long reload time, but it can do a ton of alpha per salvo. It's a Vermont that can reposition quicker if the Vermont had a 90s reload, oh and if the Vermont had light cruiser armor. I think playing this ship is an exercise in patience and prediction. It's a pretty cool concept. One of my first experiences with this ship was in a Daring. I ambushed another dd and was eating his ass. I forgot he was in a div with an Austin that promptly came around a corner and killed me in two salvos, which is like 3s with booster. Pretty cool.

back then my only nightmare when using austin is only BIG gun's like Yamato and above, now my nightmare is matla

If it comes back (airship) they should leave it as a separate battle mode and not rotate it into randoms for exactly the reason you state. Certain ships that are either no fun or difficult to play and have fun in randoms are a hoot in this mode due to playstyle. So I'd rather know I'm going into airship and choose those ships.

Last coupon, had enough steel to pick up Austin and Ragar, but haven't played even one random in the former. I got it though because it looked different, like Ragnar, which I"m enjoying.

I think Wargaming is thinking about adding airship escort as a permanent random battle gamemode but im not sure

airship mode is that sweet spot between the all-out aggressive fight of coops, and the need to think a bit about what you are doing play style of randoms. while there are still so many blowout games in this mode, they are just more fun due to the aggressive play when you get on the winning team and even some of the loser camping teams.

I cant decide whether or not I want Austin or Plymouth with my coupon Minotaur and Worcester are both some of my favourite ships. PQ makes them both look great.

Its a fun ship to play with but annoying to play against. After some engagements with it I feel "Dirty." I think its gonna see a small nerf. Its most likely gonna see a 3 use maximum soon on the booster. Edited for typos

I don't think so, yes you can just dumpster ships but austin suffers from if it's spotted shoot at it syndrome where even ships on the complete opposite flank will take shots at you the moment you are spotted. It has a high skill floor to perform well like that and also the Malta can dumpster you.

There was one fun thing left in wows, so they removed it... Because WG can not let players have fun. Having airship mode implemented in random battles is just terrible terrible idea.

I just hope they will not add it to randoms. It would lose that fun potencial with no stats that have now + Some ships are just miserable in this mode. IM LOOKING AT YOU AZUMA separate mode and come back. Sure that would be fine
