Y'all killing Rivers in the comments like what he's doing in this pick up game is supposed to translate to an NBA Playoff game. Y'all don't know how silly it sounds bashing him like that
@Callmecain239 жыл бұрын
Y'all saying they make Austin look really good as if he isn't really good? He is but it's all relative. In the league he doesn't shine cause of the tremendous talent everywhere. But let's face the facts how many of us know someone personally better than him? Exactly

These comments make me laugh. Austin Rivers has always had incredible talent. I do remember, late last year early this year he was starting to make a mark in this league when given the chance. And now with the Clips you see it because he was given a chance. He is good. And ya'll tripping, this a pick up game. The NBA is filled with talented players that none of us could touch.

i don't understand why austin hasnt put it together in the league yet. he has the size, the skills, the athleticism, sure his jumper is a bit flawed- and he makes bad decisions under pressure- but i thought he would've ironed it out by now and been a star. yet he's struglling- i think it must be mental- or confidence- because this guy has all the physical tools you'd want in a star point guard. maybe not freaky athletic- but a bit like jeremy lin, athletic enough to hang.
@TheyOverThereBro9 жыл бұрын
Pelicans turned him into a point becuase he was supposedly to small to play the position he's been playing since high school (shooting guard), then his injuries, so he just lost comfidence, he's slowing getting it back. You can tell by his playoff run.
@wreck.create.MAK09 жыл бұрын
+Jay Briggs yeah- thanks.. i think if the clippers play small ball , which it looks like they will , then he ll get more of a chance to show what he can do. they ll trot out a lineup of paul, red, pierce, blake, jordan, but then they ll run out 3 guards as the first players off the bench- in lance, jamal and austin. wont be surprised if they play say, paul, jj , austin, pierce and blake at once quite a lot. in that type of lineup he ll get to show what he can do. which is score - he s just not a point. at the two he actually has more mismatches than the 1- where the best athletes in the league now play. the 2 position is actually a bit weak nowadays. i mean, who other than kobe and harden is there? and there aren't many super athlete 2's for him to have to check.

I kno Austin Rivers wasn't going 100% but the problem with his game is that his go to move is the in your face pull up jumper. Aka a tough, low percentage shot in the NBA..But I watched his offensive highlights video from when he was on the Pelicans and he has alotta potential cause he can get by his defenders well
@carboy1019 жыл бұрын
Damn, where was I this happened at Rollins College down the street from me. I know I'm at least better than that dude in the black long sleeve shirt. I've played that dude 4x already. I wish Antonio the best when he goes off to LSU next year. One time for Sarasota Florida bro. Side Note: why is Austin Rivers release looks so odd, I thought after he made it to the NBA that the shooting coach's could fix that?
@dflyybasketball9 жыл бұрын
Truthfully, not everyone has a picture perfect jumper. Even the best shooters dont all shoot the same. Its one thing to be a bad shooter and another to be a bad shooter due to poor mechanics. For example, MKG is a bad shooter due to poor shooting mechanics. Austins shooting isnt bad. It's his confidence that effects his shooting. Thats why he eats people alive in games like this but not on the big stage even though he has the same shot and handles.

This video and other videos (like Hawes putting up 58/17 on D1/Pro invite guys) should drill the point home for everybody: every single player in the NBA is incredible at basketball. There's a reason why this is the only time EVER that a father/son coach/player duo has existed in the NBA. It's because NBA players are the elite of the elite of the elite, the .1% of all of the best pro and college basketball players in the world. There are far more people with Caltech and MIT Physics PhD credentials than the number of both active and inactive NBA players COMBINED.
