Hi Geoff, great series of videos, very informative. One tip from me with respect to removing these tappets, in my experience it's easier to pop out the springs and the cups as soon as you've got the valves out of the way before working on the tappets. Normally you can compress the spring enough using a screwdriver to get the cup off the tappet and then it's easy to pull it away and out. This leaves the tappet and tappet screw ready to pull out as one piece. Might be a bit more difficult if there are dual springs but for most A7’s it works pretty easy. By doing it this way you avoid having to put in a bridge to hold the spring compressor. Keep up the good work.

Steve, Thanks for the compliment. I do my best to make the videos that I would like to see , as informative as possible. Never even thought of using a screwdriver to lift the springs. The ones I used on my racing Kent engines in the '70s would have needed a 6ft ext on the screwdriver. Cold weather and a bladder infection has brought everything to a sudden halt. Was hoping to make a start on the block port work, having nearly finished slicing up an early and late scrap cylinder block to find out where all the metal is around the ports and waterways. Am going to experiment removing and 'adding' metal where needed, to get the inlets to flow properly. Watch this space.
