@@nfrench2100 Do replace the 105mm dia pulley on the motor with a 50mm one as that will lower the ‘speed’ of the machine. It’s an industrial unit and without care will run away at a frightening speed, hence all my effort to control it. My previous video only hints at what it can do. Good luck and make sure you use needles for use with leather. Post a video if you can/wish.

Hello Aiden, Unfortunately health has put a stop to all work since suffering a cardiac arrest in hospital July 2019 whilst having a balloon inserted into one of my hearts main arteries. For some reason I’ve lost interest and can only assume it’s psychological. I’m healthy enough now, BUT when the brain says I’m ready to work on the car, my body says NO and vise versa. Frustrating doesn’t describe how I feel.🤬🤬🤬 Hope you found my videos helpful.

Hi My Warco 250v had the same problem. In the end I removed the apron gear box and disassembled it. The problem turned out to be that the ( protruding ) gear wheel ( essentially a pinion) which engaged with the rack on the body of the lathe was slightly bent and so jammed once each revolution. I drifted the axle/pinion out and heated the axle with an oxy torch and then straightened it in a vice. Not perfect and still 0.2 mm out of true, but it solved the problem and now rolls smoothly. In passing the gearbox ( which I hadn’t cleaned before) was filthy with chips of iron and gunge. Cleaned it out refilled it with oil and put small magnet at base. Touch wood all better now.

Ian, Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately health issues have slowed me down to such an extent that I’ve done virtually nothing since July 2019, having an emergency balloon inserted into one of my heart’s main arteries due to blockage. Only now starting getting my enthusiasm back, after what I can only speculate as some sort of post psychological effect on me. One good thing is I no longer suffer angina and am now walking 3+ miles with ease, something I haven’t been able to do for 10 years or more. I certainly hope to add more videos, but cannot promise. Photos etc are always added to my thread on the Friends Forum: www.austinsevenfriends.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=205&page=11&highlight=Geoff+halstead

Nicholas, My unexpected rush to hospital end July 2019 rather threw a large spanner in the works finding myself in an ambulance with ‘Blues & Twos’ going for an emergency balloon to be inserted into one of my heart’s arteries, then needing CPR to boot😳 Quite an experience I will never forget, but still here🤞 Am only now feeling up to it, what with two lots of severe toothache this last month😡 Am busy replacing the torch leads on my Clarke MIG with a 3m set so that I can easily reach the OS of the car, as the existing one is a near useless 1.5m long Hopefully will be ready to continue soon.

James W Animal feed that you dilute using tap water Need to experiment, but anything between 5:1 to 10:1 works. Dunk the item onto the mix and leave it, but do stir regularly. Take out and rinse to check regularly as well, but it could take weeks depending in size of part and level of rust. Throw used molasses onto flower beds etc as it’s a good fertiliser

jessestrum Your biggest problem will be finding one! They are now like 'hens teeth'! I was very lucky finding my Boxford on eBay. Where do you live, as this will effect your chances of finding one? I certainly don't want to dissuade you from finding one, but you need to be vigilant and check every auction site you can just about every day, and ask local Model Engineer clubs as well as put a request on social media. Try eBay first, or the equivalent in your part of the World. Good luck, and if you do find one, then either inspect it for wear or ask the seller specific questions about that, specifically the ram.
