Watching this the week after SXSW 2022. It's almost MORE crowded this time, more stuff going on, than South By itself and this is a "regular" weekend. Streets of Austin used to be jam-packed for SXSW. Hardly no one came to Austin for South By in 2022 and that's sad.

@@Oleks_krulikovskyi Changing how? For the better or worse?...... I saw this documentary on drugs in Austin and how during some festival for several nights how they went undercover with a few drug dealers and they made thousands of dollars every night. It was pretty scary.

Not anymore. Apple, Tesla and Google moved here and did what they do to cities (see The Bay area) and now Austin is just a bunch of rich, yuppy cucks and cops afraid to stop the drugs and crime. They completely FUCKED 6th Street and Rainey is next....its literally baby San Francisco.

Scooters are called limes, birds, and other things. They are an app you download and usually cost $1 to rent and then $0.10 per mile. Depends on the city and they are all over the place in Austin

You can do whatever the fuck you want in Austin. As long as you are not murdering a person the cops don't care about an open beer, weed, coke etc.

@@charliewade2188 Haha...you are right. I was in Austin for a week & yes, those scooters are all over the place. Great idea...... But, on the other hand, I could see that in some cities (like Portland) that people there would use them as weapons, hurling them at cops or breaking store windows, of terrorizing drivers and breaking their windshields at a red light....Austin has a lot of colleges so the scooters fit right in and are used quite a bit....More college towns could use these or even on big campuses they would come in handy.

@@director2bob Haha, that's the feeling I got. In my home state of NJ, it is just the opposite. You would think a Democratic state would be more liberal with booze. No way. Even at a fair, if someone is selling beer/wine/whatever they need licensing which is hard to get, everyone shows id, then you have to drink your drink in a fenced off area. Ridiculous. You can't walk around with an open container. In Pennsylvania, you can walk around with booze. .....
