As a Daddy to a special Little Man that happens to also have DS...this put tears in my eyes. I love how articulate Austin is. I love that he gets along so well with others. I love that he's come so far! What really, really gets to me, though, is the obvious love and care that all of the others there have for him. This is just wonderful.

Damn it CrossFit, you made me cry again. Speaking as a parent of a special needs child, you've got to be "all in". Fully committed. Your best effort at all times. That goes for the both the parent and the child. Everyone in this video; from the parents, to the coaches, and to the athlete, were "all in". That's unique to our community and should never be taken for granted. CrossFitters live life passionately and this was an extremely powerful example of that.

This video is beautiful and inspiring. I love what crossfit has and is doing for those of us who have disadvantages and this video is a beautiful representation of this. I want to become a trainer and open up a gym or box for those in my community who have similar disadvantages. Because i know from having an autistic spectrum disorder how hard becoming fit and healthy can be. This video just makes me more determined to do that.

Many crossfit gyms across the nation have free adaptive classes for people with disabilities and or kids in general...it's a way for the gym to give back to their community. These programs are run by volunteer coaches. There are so many wonderful volunteers out there. My 13 yr old daughter just started at a crossfit gym in Asheville. They have adaptive classes 2 days a week for people w/ disabilities.
