I will play this for my husband of 62+ years. He now has advanced stage Parkinson's disease with dementia. This was our song, and I believe that he will respond. First I need to stop crying. [I called it!! He watched the whole time, and he even sang a bit! Thank you!!]

Thank you for sharing this testimony. What a blessing you shared with your husband, watching this clip! My beloved wife was diagnosed w/ PD about 6 years ago... She just turned 67; five days before retiring. Twenty two years ago we watched PD take my dear father; after 10+ years' of steady decline... So we both know what may lie ahead. But God is good. And we're alive today by His grace. May we all rejoice in the beauty of His love & moments of simple grace.

It's very interesting how many Seniors are commenting. I am 75, and I remember well listening to Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers when I was probably about 15. You have an incredible voice, Austin, and you did an amazing job with this song, which is one of my all time favourites. I should add that I first saw this video quite some time ago, but because I hadn't noted your name, I could not find the video again. So imagine how happy I was when it recently surfaced on my phone 🤗🤗 I look forward to watching your other videos. Thank you!!

Austin Brown, I listened to The Righteous Brothers & Elvis Presley last night, just to compare, & You Are Much Better Than Both!!! I partly feel so strongly about that, because a lot of noises bother me, & I don't feel so dumb for hurting myself when I listen to you sing. I enjoy it much more. If you could do a bunch of songs with Just Your Voice, I think you'll find a small but devoted market for it. I was asking Jim Cramer, this stock guy, if he could buy the Taco Cabanas in San Antonio, so that I don't lose money on the stock, & I mentioned that one of the Taco Cabanas had seriously BAD, noisy music. I then mentioned that your music would be Much better. I think he already owns 2 restaurants. I don't know if he ever has live music in his restaurants, but you might ask, & just give him the link to your music. You can Google him on KZbin, & he has an email listed there. It's really to ask about stocks, but I'm sure he'd love your "Unchained Melody", & maybe Christmas music, at the least.

Only For a Short While Oh, only for so short a while you have loaned us to each other, because we take form in your act of drawing us, and we take life in your painting us, and we breathe in your singing us. But only for so short a while have you loaned us to each other. Because even a drawing cut in obsidian fades, and the green feathers, the crown feathers, of the Quetzal bird lose their color, and even the sounds of the waterfall die out in the dry season. So, we too, because only for a short while have you loaned us to each other. - Aztec Indian Prayer

This transported me ... the way the singer ached with his love for someone who has gone on. My Dad n Mom were married for 73 loving years; produced 8 children, adopted one more; then had 24 grandchildren, n 14 great grandchildren. At age 94, our Mom passed away; 8 months later, Dad followed. During their time apart, i heard my Dad cried n longed for his Wife, calling for her... Thus, your singing reminded me of Dad’s yearning n calling, saying, “Where are you? ... Wait for me!”They showed us TRUE LOVE, beyond the “til death do us part”. Thank you for this. May God bless you with success using your gift, to touch countless hearts. By the way, my parents’ love theme song is “Only You”.

Yes. I love the John Gary version. Although in the style of this century, this is also pure-voiced like that. Both are less mannered than the style current in their day, too. Not making a big thing of the technical challenge but just letting the beauty of the melody and the lyrics shine through.

Awwww.....Janie, I am so sorry to hear this. I lost my son in 2011 in Wasit, Iraq and know the pain you feel...but, having said this, I know they watch over us, they are so close..so close. On the day of his funeral I awoke to the tune of 'Time to Say Goodbye' in my head and was so angry that it was playing in my mind. I just could not imagine why I would think of this song when I was no where near ready to say goodbye to him. Later that evening the entire family went to Riverwalk in honor of his memory and as we stepped out onto the balcony 'Time to Say Goodbye' began to play. They are always with us. Love to your heart from mine.

My husband and I never had 'a song' but shortly after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, he was wandering around the house randomly humming a tune. Because he grew up in Prague, he was not familiar with a lot of the songs I grew up with so he had to ask me what he was humming. I realized he was humming 'Love me Tender' and I thought, why an Elvis song? I looked up the lyrics and saw the final lines were "I'll be yours through all the years, Till the end of time". We always knew our connection transcended this one life and that's when we knew we had just been given 'our song'. It's been 5 years now and it doesn't take much to still trigger tears. I know they're waiting for us Janie. We will have our grand reunions. 💕
