I always say this but when Dreamworks hits (The first 2 Shrek movies, the first 2 Kung Fu Panda movies, the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, The Prince of Egypt), their best work rivals some of Disney and Pixar’s best in my eyes. Looking forward to seeing The Wild Robot.

Well Pixar and Illumination had a great score in this summer at box office (Inside out 2 and DM4) And I hope Dreamworks get even best score of this movie is an adaption of a book and the reviews are extremely positive

how dare you? Pixar is the best studio on record in terms of quality. Wild Robot? how about Wall-E and big hero-6. You don't even need to bust out Toy Story, Up, Coco, Inside Out, Moana, Encanto....these are just recent ones.
@gcolbyp3 ай бұрын
@@aishaalamoudi599Some of the ones you mentioned aren’t even Pixar. And I wasn’t bad mouthing them, I’m just saying Dreamworks at their best matches, even rivals with the quality of Disney and Pixar’s best. It wasn’t a diss.

The fact that Chris Sanders wrote and directed this movie excites me the most. He has been in the animation industry for decades and it truly upsets me how a lot of people still don't know his name. From Lilo & Stitch to How To Train Your Dragon to The Croods and now this movie, Sanders is easily one of the greatest artists working in the animation industry. I really hope this could be a bigger hit for him. He's such a gem in animation industry, i adore him so much

As an intern who worked on the cameras in this film, this is so incredible to hear from you!! Thank you so much for your kind words and even if you hated the film, I still would’ve loved this video! And just some bts for the cinematography in this film: Spielberg was definitely one of our inspirations camera-wise, with the shot of Roz falling down the cliff has her headlights shine through the forrest being coined by Sanders as the “Spielberg shot” during our feedback sessions for that sequence! And Nolan too as many of our flying sequences were directly inspired by Dunkirk! We even watched Dunkirk at the theater on DW Campus haha! Anyways, thanks again for your thoughtful critique!! Loved how much you connected with this and how well you described the themes we were going for!! Even as someone who worked on it, I can’t believe the movie is real haha!!

Every character is actually quite likable as well which is such a refreshing change for animated films. No need for annoying comedic relief characters, just a bunch of well-written, well-conceived, and fantastically voiced characters led by Lupita Nyong'o as Roz. It's actually crazy how expressive and emotive you can make a robot without a mouth through design, animation

Dreamworks may not have the history and longevity of Disney and the consistency of hits that Pixar once had; but when they have a hit, they have a *HIT*

For every Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn at DreamWorks who's very inconsistent, there is still Chris Sanders who can still tell a good story that DreamWorks absolutely deserves

We saw it and loved it. Great for all ages to see on the big screen. I do agree that younger little ones may need to wait to see this one. I wouldn't be surprised to see it get nominated for an Oscar and may actually win.

Austin, do you still need to see 'Robot Dreams'? Still my favourite animated film of the year by far. Interesting for you to compare and contrast these two films - both about robots, both can watched by the whole family, but also with different levels of meaning to people from different age groups, and probably a great double-bill.

Really excited for this one! I feel like it will underperform at the box office, but then go on to be a cult classic in the future as more and more people watch it.

Austin while I was this amazing movie, All I could think of is Overwatch shorts (yes the video game). There is one in particular that’s called “The Last Bastion” by far my favorite short and it is heavily influenced this movie (pure speculation).. I really highly recommend you give it a watch and see the similarities between the two

Yeah but The book is better Why did they have to shuffle around the story beats Now the character progression and motivation is so weak Children's stories is not high art, just follow the story structure But I guess the screen writer needs to earn his pay Shame it went from good to just OK
