As an intern who worked on the cameras in this film, this is so incredible to hear from you!! Thank you so much for your kind words and even if you hated the film, I still would’ve loved this video! And just some bts for the cinematography in this film: Spielberg was definitely one of our inspirations camera-wise, with the shot of Roz falling down the cliff has her headlights shine through the forrest being coined by Sanders as the “Spielberg shot” during our feedback sessions for that sequence! And Nolan too as many of our flying sequences were directly inspired by Dunkirk! We even watched Dunkirk at the theater on DW Campus haha! Anyways, thanks again for your thoughtful critique!!

You guys did awesome work. I loved this movie and Kris Bowers deserves major credit for the incredible soundtrack. My partner and I both cried during this film. I want to point out one thing that I think hurt the box office numbers, because the film itself was clearly not an issue, which is the advertising. This was not really advertised at all. No one in my area knew this movie existed, I found out from Reddit and my partner who is a major movie fanatic found out through me. Our theater didn't even have the poster up until release week which is odd for them. Again though, amazing job. Easily one of my favorites and the first movie I've felt emotional about in years. So glad that we can see something not just recycled and a dollar store version of other things that were recycled also. Glad there is still something good out there. That said, JEREMY, I honestly am a bit baffled that we haven't gotten a video about the soul reaver remasters from you yet!!!

Movie trying to convince kids that it's totally cool to "choose" a different family... like you know, maybe the government would be a better daddy... this is some seriously dark, evil garbage, masked in pretty colors.

Excellent review as always, Jeremy, but also wanted to say this: If you’re a parent, please cry (if you feel inclined to) if this movie or really anything emotionally touches you; it will let your kids know that reacting authentically is okay

“If it’s causing this much chaos and violence, why do you insist on continuing to do it?” - Matt Walsh on being gay and having a night out, after the Club Q mass shooting. "Expecting your kid to learn 'social skills' from public school is like sending him to live with chimpanzees so that he'll learn proper table manners." - Matt Walsh, on public schooling. "So what I'm saying is that the problem is not per se teenage pregnancy, it's unwed pregnancy. That's the problem in society." - Matt Walsh on when impregnating teenage girls should be considered a problem. “But it is, in fact, true that you have to make people hurt. And I'm sorry. I'm sorry. But holding signs and yelling loudly will not make anyone hurt. - Matt Walsh, on peaceful protest

The Secret of NIMH is a movie I loved as a kid and found myself still loving as an adult, perhaps even more so since I understand more of what's going on in it now. This film was also terrific and I could see it resonating with today's kids the same way as they themselves get older.

Easily Oscar-worthy. Damn, what a spectacle that was. 10/10. Glad I randomly watched a midday matinee alone, because it got me a few times and I would've probably been a little embarrassed. Gonna call it "over stimulation", but really, it was probably just incredibly well done.

For real, she was also great in that Quiet Place prequel, which is one of those movies that's CARRIED by the cast being understandable without talking. A lesser actor and the film would be unwatchable. She's one of those actors who's quietly just been kicking ass every time.

This is actually a trilogy of books. My wife picked the first one at random because we love robots and needed new books to read to our kids. It quickly became our family’s favorite book and the book had us tearing up. The trailers looked great and aside from some mild artistic license with the source material it looks faithful. Excited to hear how much you enjoyed it, and can’t wait to watch it this weekend.

Wow. That's a really unusual in modern cinema. Normally the message is "you are perfect the way you are. The world needs to accommodate you."
@brando3342Ай бұрын
It's not that unusual on the whole. They are still teaching kids that they don't have to obey and accept their real parents. That it's okay if a kid wants to choose "new parents"... of course, that's the government. That's the point.
@00ammy00Ай бұрын
@@brando3342 OMG I hate this message! Like I love the found family trope as much as the next person but I'm getting kind of sick of how it usually comes with villainizing blood family and that it's okay to just renounce your parents if they don't agree with your views because they're "wrong" and you're "right". Nothing against foster parenting but it would be nice to see a film about kids having to realize their blood parents aren't always the bad guys and that others who seem like they have their best interests in heart just want to sway them into their own way of thinking...
@00ammy00Ай бұрын
Actually the propaganda I'm seeing is less "You're perfect the way you are" and more "if you don't feel like your true self it's because you're not who you think you are, and there are people around you who won't accept you, but they're just bigoted and evil so ignore them and be your "true self" by literally changing your body chemistry and chopping off your body parts!!"
