So true. I immediately noticed that they kicked it down a half step, and I thought, "Uh-oh, how's her voice?" But even if she can't get to those high notes, her voice still sounds great! Strong as ever. I also love that she and Neil have one of the few long-lasting relationships in rock. Wish I could see this whole episode.

Before auto tune, there was not only greatness but also trained vocalists who used their voices as finely tuned embodied instruments. Before Mac Book Pro there were producers with their favorite sound board engineers that gave rock albums their entire feel and power acting as a kind of additional member of the band.

I'm 50 yrs old & have worked in NYC as an artist & producer for 25+ years now. I can assure you there's just as much musicality happening today as there was in the 80s, (more, because there's more access) the difference is people like yourself don't seek it out, because you're happy listening to music from your youth. There's amazing music out there that has zero to do w/AI, but you're too rigid & stuck in your ways to notice. So stop painting the world thru the narrow lenses you see it thru, & get a grip.

@@JeighNeitherThere is still a lot of good young talent out there, but a lot of focus goes to the less talented young who become popular and then legacy acts like Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo sound even better at 71 and 69 than when they were a lot more young. They are very good for their age or any age. I am 51 and recall their 1980s heyday. They were great then and are currently just for still rocking and it being on stage and not in a rocking chair.

She is 71 and he is 69. They have gotten new recognition since being inducted in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2022. They finally let them in. They had qualified by 2004. They shoulda gotten in sooner, but at least they are in.

@@brakesforsnakes757As many great female singers go, her voice is more husky as she has aged and with so much touring, but it is still powerful and could blow a lot of the young ones off the stage. Pat Benatar is operatically trained and had a nearly 5 octave vocal range at her peak. She still has her traditional, recognizable sound and Neil Giraldo does as her main guitar player-husband. They have done well together. They continue to do so.

The young bands could learn from their performances and staying power, as they have toured relentlessly all the way since 1979 through to the present, married each other in 1982, and have two adult daughters born in 1985 and 1994, so they have balanced themselves well.

I was introduced to Pat Benatar via MTV in the early 80's with the" You better Run" video and slightly later the " Love is a Battlefield" video. I was hooked by Benatar amazing voice and sex appeal. I finally met her at a meet and greet in 2017 and she is so cool. The concert was amazing and her voice is still perfect !!

It's just an incredible performance! @@brentj.peterson6070Huh? She sings "Love Is A Battlefield" in this type of longer version than the original 1983 recording and her concerts of that era. Her voice is more husky, however still powerful. I think they have toured so much that her voice has worn with the ages, but she still sounds as good or better, but in a lower register.

She lip synched the whole show. I watched it closely. She steps away from the mic here and there and the vocal does not decrease in level. You have to watch the whole show and her mouth closely

That's right.... lip syncing. The quality of her voice has always been fantastic, one of the best singers ever. But this performance she isn't singing live. @@Lance37a

I was 13 when this cut dropped in 1983. It was a banger then. It's still a banger, sung with 40 more years of living seasoning the song and performance. Ms. Benatar and the crew sound incredible.:)
