Had reset the game, went looking for Eevee before doing the tutorial Alpha Kricketune. Found a Shiny Shinx instead 😂 I feel finding shinies in Legends Arceus is much easier, and I no longer have to painstakingly do the old shiny methods and have nothing to show for hours of encounters.

Just to clarify, to get Basculin to evolve you need to do 294 recoil damage, without Basculin fainting. You can use healing items or resting at a camp, just don't let it faint.

Dude, my dumbass thought that I had to make basculegion himself lose 294 hp, so then i just fed him a bunch of grit items to max out his hp. Now I have a basculegion with a lot of hp, and a very high level

I got my Hisuian Arcanine this morning. The 2nd growlithe I found was male and had a neutral nature so I evolved it and he is the goodest boy.

Here is a tip, I noticed when you throw a ball at a pokemon, it can play one of two animations, a high ball bounce, and a low ball bounce, if the pokeball bounces low, then it's pretty much guarantied to catch, i have no numbers to confirm, just experience, and a high pokeball bounce can catch the pokemon, it's just that with alpha and higher level pokemon, the will probably break out, once again, no number or anything, just something i noticed playing the game

Thanks for doing these videos! They've been a big help, especially when figuring out where pokemon spawns are. Minor note, because I've noticed you doing it in your videos and I wasn't sure if it was on purpose; when in battle, you can just press X to switch to your items, and then press ZR to throw a ball, rather than going in to your items and selecting the ball there.

There’s another bit to get to those Growlithe. As you go up the hill the there’s a beautifly/Dustox spawn, the rocks to the left are scalable. Past the apricorn tree is too far.

To get to those growliths up on the cliff, you can scale the wall with wyrdeer next to the berry tree and where the T in Windbreak Stand is. Much faster than going all the way around

5:29 actually, I figured out a trick to use moves more times without healing, so it's possible that you wouldn't have to go and heal at all. You can change moves at any time, but their PP will not replenish when they are relearned; instead, a new move will take the remaining PP of the move in the position that it replaces when you confirm the changes (it will cap out at its own max PP if the move it's replacing has more than that left). IMPORTANT: it's best if you make the Pokémon forget/replace both the move you want more PP for and the move whose PP you want to take, confirm the change, then choose to change moves **again** and reteach the desired move(s) in each other's place, because it will remember a move's current PP if it's not forgotten - even if you put it in a different spot! Just make sure your placeholder move doesn't have less max PP or you'll lose the excess and possibly run out before you finish.

Another tip for scaling things outside of Wyrdeer: If you aim a throwable item while walking up a cliff, you can't be staggered/slip. Makes scaling hard to scale things a lot easier.

There is an easier way to get up that mountain for growlithe. There is a path when you coming up in from the little forest. Right next to whatever bug is flying is the path. On the map its next to the “and” in Stand on the map.

I don't know if you've mentioned this in other vids, but you can actually refresh the PP of a move by changing it to another move, saving and exiting the screen, then replacing it again in exchange for a move that has PP. I.e. Basculin with 0 PPbin wave crash. Replace wave crash with another move and save. Then put eave crash back in place of a move with PP and save. Boom. Wave crash has PP again.

I have a special connection with my Hisuian Arcanine. Caught a Hisuian growlithe during my playthrough. Had a fire stone ready, but ended up finally figuring out how much fall damage you can take the hard way after leaping off a cliff. Lost my fire stone (I didn’t know you had to turn on internet to get it back at the time). While I was waiting fruitlessly waiting for my pack to be found, I continued playing the game. Got my growlithe all the way to level 57. At that point I was getting desperate to evolve my Pokemon because I wanted fully evolved team before I beat the game. Spent a total of 3-4 hours incorrectly farming for a fire stone (I didn’t wanna look up any video tutorials because I didn’t want to spoil Pokemon designs. And the website tutorials told me to beat up graveler until I get a fire stone. Did not specify that they needed to be the graveler that pops out of ore deposits.) until finally I realized I had to turn on the internet. Had to wait another day until I finally got my satchel back along with the items. Never felt so achieved in a Pokemon game before.

I'm way too unable to do the method for basculegion. I feel like Basculin will either faint or the wild pokemon faints before I can do enough recoil damage. I know I can heal but that takes a turn and that's a turn I could be doing recoil damage on. I feel like this method is easier said than done.

I was able to evolve my growlithe without a fire stone, maybe there was drought weather and you can do it that way? I didnt really even think about it, it just said 'can evolve' and figured it was just by level up. not that it matters too much since evo stones are so easy to come by, but I figured I'd mention it. I discovered a way to cheese needing to heal to restore PP for the “use X move in Y style way too many times” evolutions. Go to change moves and replace the 0-PP move with anything else from the move set and confirm. That new move will then inherit the 0 PP from the evolution move. Then go back in to change moves and put the evo move in a different slot and it will inherit the PP of the slot it replaced. It needs to be in 2 separate move changes because if you try to do the same swaps within the same move change, the game treats it like swapping move positions in the summary page and keeps PP attached to each move.

For anyone who is lookin for different genders of Basculegion, I only found Male Basculins north of Islespy Shore (amongst the rocks) and females in Tranquility Cove (again amongst the rocks). It might be just my game, but I caught like 6 males and 4 females in their places mentioned before without finding any of the other gender.

I found a quicker way up to the Hisuian Growlithe's. As your going up the first ramp, once you get up to the tree and rock on the left immediately turn left. You should be standing over "stand" for windbreak stand. Also another great video Austin, keep it coming!

You can switch over to your pokeballs in battle just like in overworld, you don't have to open up the items menu. Hit X and use R/L then XR to those it.

So you need 300 recoil damage for basculin, without it fainting! BUT you can absolutely use potions on it to prevent fainting. so you don’t have to wait till it’s high enough level to have 300+ hp. I tested it myself, just on the off chance you couldn’t lol. I was also testing the sleeping to pass time thing when evolving Ursaring, and sleeping until the same time of day does still pass time. For example, I slept until night. And then immediately slept until night again, and 24hrs did pass. A lot of people (myself included) thought you had to like sleep till morning, then to night, then to morning, etc.
