STICKERS AVAILABLE, MORE MERCH COMING
Recently, I was on an audition and a few of us were talking about the live show versus the recordings and to what degree the record would be replicated live. This led to another discussion on how to distill down, what can amount to 4-5 guitar tracks on a recorded song, to one part that a single guitarist can play that encapsulates all of the important/relevant pieces that take song from a piece of paper or a demo, to something more.

Great stuff as always! 1 - you owe Taylor Dahlia royalties for that Shania Twain line lol 2 - our mutual pal Josh Waters gave me sage advice that there are learn the record guys and guys who do their own thing and bring their own flair to a gig/tune. I think part of leaning into one of those archetypes is accepting that not every gig/situation is the right fit for you. 3 - there’s a lot of stuff (particularly country tunes) that I’ve learned on stage and then gone back to the record and been like “oh there’s a lick there?” And most of the time I don’t end up learning the lick 😂

How do you prepare to be a gigging musician as far as gear. Reliable guitars and amps are part of it, but how do you show up ready?
