i think petroleum isnt good for you. know it keeps you lips moisturized but eventually it makes your lips black(i have experience). Using shea butter or coco butter will be a way better substitute

Samy Dreamer I have heard professionals argue whether it was good or bad for you but I personally like using vaseline. Its all what you prefer but those are good alternatives!

I heard vaseline doesn't moisturise. Like it just protects or seals. Sometimes before I go to sleep, I put lip balm on my lips then coat with a little vaseline and I find that doing that makes the balm last longer. :)

Why do you need is a tape on the top

It sticks the saran wrap to the eos and makes sure that it holds together. when you pour the liquid into the saran wrap it sometimes makes the mold weird when there is no tape. Hope this makes sense!

I just wanted to make sure that everyone understand that you can NOT just put any old glass container in that water, you need to use Pyrex or Fire-King, something that is made to withstand heat- otherwise, you might end up with broken glass in your pan! I'm sure that Australeya has put this in her FAQs, but since I can't see that currently, I'm adding it here- ESPECIALLY since so many people have chosen to disregard it anyway , despite her saying that if you have any questions, you should check there FIRST before commenting!

you could substitute the petroleum jelly with honey wax. Use a 100% honey wax candle for substituting both the gun lighter and the petroleum jelly, and if you want color use kool aid powder change title to DIY: EOS Lip Balm - Make and Re-use/Recycle

wait, so you are not making an EOS, you are suggesting it is a good idea to use tinted vaseline as a substitute to an EOS because it works as well and is cheaper. Rosi RzZ the original EOS balm has no petroleum jelly. This is a diy lip balm because many commercial lipbalms use petroleum jelly but there are also many out there without it.

Attention everyone! The reason hers came out all weird looking is because she used Vaseline! You should use 1 tablespoon of chapstick and a tiny bit of Coconut oil! If you use Vaseline it will melt and look weird. Go to HelloMaphie and watch her video it's way better!

This DIY seems a little bit too much. I think cutting out the divider makes the process more difficult. To get that perfect shape its better to leave it in and poor the mixture into the divider into the top cap.

The whole point of EOS is that they are made of organic and natural ingredients. Petroleum jelly is made of a byproduct of oil.. no thank you. You could probably do this with a bunch of EOS's that you depot and put in one container though!

It wouldn't have only burnt the vaseline, it would've set things on fire. Petroleum jelly is highly flammable! Be careful. Loved this tutorial though. :3

Meter recipe: Beeswax (1 tablespoon) Coconut oil (2 tablespoons) A little bit of old lipstick Some sort of extract.. Melt all of them.. Then pour into container (a certain way you have to set your container up.. (You screw your divider thingy onto the kid of the eos. Then pour in your mixture. Then put in fridge to let harden. Then unscrew from lid and put into the bottom piece of the eos. Put in fridge again! Ta da

I don't think you should take out the star/asterisk shaped bottom because when you run out of your DIY EOS you'll have more work to do taking out the DIY balm from the original EOS container.

Hi☺️ So if you pop out that part that you cut out, then it'll actually screw into the top lid. Then all you have to do is pour your concoction into the top making sure it completely covers the part that you screwed on. No wrap or tape needed! The reaally smooth plastic will actually keep the balm from sticking and give it a really smooth texture. After freezing it for 30 minutes, unscrew that part, and since you covered it with the balm, it will be a part of the lip balm, and the actual balm will cone out perfectly with it. Then, just pop back into the bottom and VOILA!! Your idea was really cool too, just seemed that you were having trouble with the shape, and with this technique, a lighter isnt even needed! Anyway, you're freaking gorgeous and I loved the vid. 😃
