I tried this method and it turned out pretty well. I like a thick lipgloss/oil and this homemade gloss came out a lil thin (I might add more aloe Vera gel in the next batch and see if that helps) but I think this will be good for keeping my lips moisturized in the winter 💕

You should never apply essential oils (any of them) directly to skin. The concentration has a high chance of burning or causing irritation. You should always dillute essential oils by mixing 1-2 drops in a tablespoon of a carrier oil like olive oil, coconut oil, argon oil, etc.

hi guys! this won’t stay clear in the tube but on the lips it still is, i tried this and added some pigment and well let’s just say it didn’t work. I put it in a lip gloss squeeze tube and after a few weeks, the oil and vaseline separated. Plus, it absorbs into ur lips so it won’t shine for long! hope this helps

heres an lip balm recipe in case u dont have the ingredients heree half tsp vaseline two tsp olive/coconut oil melt it for 30 seconds in microwave mix it until it turns into one liquid put it in a empty container (it is liquidy but after u put it in the fridge it will form a vaseline texture) put it in the fridge for 10 mins there u go!

Hey! I know this is late but I tried this recipe out and it is great for someone who doesn't like really thick lip gloss. It just adds a very thin layer of gloss to your lips so they don't feel heavy either! But I think you can always add more vaseline or not melt it as much if you want it to be thicker.

Ok I don't see anyone talking about the shelf life of this lipgloss 😳 she didn't mention how long you can use or if you should put in the refrigerator. The aloe Vera gel is water base so how come you don't preserve it 😭 to everyone reading this comment plz use it in a week and refrigerate it while using to avoid bacteria and yeast building in the product which give your lips reaction 🙏🏽

I bet the aloe already has preservatives in it since it is store bought, all you need is vit e oil so the oils won't go rancid

Hell Yeah no even if it is store bought you need to preserve it. Because you are using it with other different ingredients which is oil base. So oil and water can't take together without emulation and preservative. It doesn't matter if they are preserved by their own. They are preserved for their own shelf life not to blend with another different ingredients. I hope you understand what I mean

I did this, and to everyone asking if it solidified, it did, but just a little. It didn't go back to the same consistency of Vaseline, it's still a lot thinner than that. Just make sure to add enough oil to get the right consistency. It's nice, usable, moisturizing, and surprisingly reaaaally glossy. Some say you might as well have just used Vaseline straight out of the tub, but it's actually a lot shinier than plain old Vaseline. My only problem with it is when I used it over lipstick, it basically acted as a remover since the base is petroleum jelly and made my matte lipstick a lot more susceptible to getting moved around and being wiped. Other than that, it could save you a bit of money if you're on a budget and you already have all the ingredients :))

Guys,to those who DONT have vaseline or versagel but DO have Aloe Vera Gel,try this recipe i did at home. -Aloe Vera Gel(make sure its not close to its expiration date) -Olive oil or any oil you have at home(anything works but coconut oil is very good too) -And lip tint or eyeshadow(tho i dont recommend bc its used for eyes not lips) or put in a lipstick of choice you dont use and mix well -microwave for about 10 seconds or more(up to 20 secs or 30) -put in your tube and boom,lipgloss. THOUGH you did get lipgloss just a disclaimer i used a lipstick but it didnt have much tint but the effect is amazing and it gives good gloss.Flavoring oils arent too neccessary but if you do have put in some flavoring oil to change its taste.Try it and leavr me a comment!! Edit:the reason for the microwave is because to melt the lipsticks pieces of chunk,if you already put some lipgloss in your recipr or a lip tint pigment no need for microwave:)
