Australia Melbourne 2023 Family Road Trip
This is our second trip to Australia this year, and this time we headed to Melbourne together with our wonderful friends. It is also their first time going to Australia, and they are definitely loving the place, vibe, and weather!
One of my biggest takeaways from this trip is that nothing else is as important as family. Lauren was again our biggest challenge during the trip, but thanks to Celine and Ben for helping out and the constant conversation with us, along with the ‘pep talk’ with Lauren. Haha. From this trip, we really learned a lot more about our children and friends. It is a memory I will never forget.
The last time Janna and I were in Melbourne was in 2017 when we didn’t have any kids yet. But somehow this trip was more time-consuming in terms of driving. The places we set out to go were quite a distance, and we felt like we were rushing a bit here and there. Thus, some places will have very little footage. Maybe we need to stay in Melbourne longer next time. Haha. We also felt that we gave too little time to the Yarra region. Next time, I guess.
We were glad to get to go to Puffing Billy and the Phillip Island Penguin Parade; these two really wowed the kids, and they loved it so much. We are also very blessed to have had good weather, and it only rained twice during our 9-day trip.
Hope we can make more beautiful memories together in Australia. There are still so many places and things we have yet to see.

I’m so glad you uploaded another video and happy that you guys enjoyed your second time this year in Australia! Don’t mind us taking some ideas from you itinerary especially puffing Billy. Would you say that there’s less driving in your trip to Perth earlier this year than in Melbourne recently? Were trynna do a MEL-PER itinerary and may only go for 4D3N in Melbourne

Hey! Glad u like it haha. Feel free to copy the itinerary as much as you like. Posted it so ppl can have easier planning as well. For the puffing billy there are a few routes u might want to take note. And they can be very popular during certain period. In fact we booked puffing billy 3 months in advance and we almost couldn’t get a date.
